Everybody with a Facebook account has one of "those friends." You know who I'm talking about--the ones who, online anyway, are very forthright about their political opinions or personal problems, and say things which are so aggravating and obnoxious you just want to shut them up with the perfect comeback. But, for some reason or another, you didn't do it. Maybe you didn't want to piss them off, maybe you didn't want to seem like an ass on Facebook. Or maybe you just sat back and waited for the chance to say it to their face (ha!). Anyway, now's your chance to share those stories and comebacks you've got burning inside you.

I've got two of them. First my uncle, who as soon as he got a Facebook account became more political and more religious than I ever saw him behave in real-life. He shares all sorts of snarky pictures from political groups, and on Sundays he posts all sorts of YouTube videos of old gospel and religious bands (as opposed to actually getting up and going to church, which he stopped attending years ago). But a couple of weeks ago he shared a picture which really burned me up. It was a bumper sticker which read "The government is not your baby's daddy." To top it off, the group he shared it from was called "Silence is consent." Who the fuck even joins a group like that? I wanted so bad to reply with, "No it's not, but it sure is interested in what we do with our reproductive systems." But, I figured waging war on my dad's brother would not in any way end well, so I refrained.

Then I have a cousin who had a baby in May (and didn't even bother telling anybody when she was born--almost the whole family didn't find out until she posted the pictures on Facebook nearly a week later). She broke up with the baby daddy like a week after she was born, and since then she's been out with two other guys so far. And she shares it ALL on Facebook. Then one day she shared a picture that said, "If you wouldn't make her a wife, don't make her a mother."

What the fuck? The sheer nerve it must have taken for her of all people just absolutely staggering to me. I was extremely close to replying with, "You know, it takes two to tango." Had it typed out and everything, but again I didn't think pitting her and her parents (who I actually really like) against me would have been a good idea. So I chickened out.

I know, pathetic. But hey, surely I can't be the only one. Right...?

Think the most common would just have to be:

'Please for the love of god quit being so damn emo'

Once I wanted to say "Just shut up, both of you" when there was a Facebook feud going on between two people. Status after status of dragging out the drama.

In the end I said nothing and just performed a purge of my Friends List.

I should probably do that too...but it's so juicy sometimes! It's like watching a train wreck, you just can't look away.

That's exactly why the SpoonyOne thread won't die for some time.

I only have one friend that posts political things on his FB, and it's always some gay activist pictures that try to be edgy and in your face but essentially just preach to the choir because I'm pretty sure his friends and family share the same view : \
It doesn't bother me THAT much, but it's a little irritating to have three of these on my front page every day.

I find the people who share every single thing they see on 9gag and funnyjunk a little more annoying than people who post political dribble. Also people who whine about their relationship issues and try to get attention (my ex used to do this every time we had a minor disagreement and it drove me FUCKING MAD, especially when people would reply with "you go girl!"). Also people who always post about being depressed.

I would like to tell a lot of these people to SHUT THE HELL UP, but I'm a little too passive to do something like that....

"I don't know how I am posting, because I don't have a facebook." In the end I didn't say it because I don't have a facebook.

I have a friend that sometimes posts rants that will go for like 5 updates long, and he's drunk when he does that.

Commenting on any of those will spark a rant with him being a dick. The most recent one was he was doing a Lord of the Rings movie marathon and he was taking pictures of different scenes and posting them to Facebook. Facebook tells him to knock it off and then comes in the angry and drunk posts, one of which says that if he posts the song 'Happy Birthday' will they get mad at him too (yes they will) and that he's going to quit Facebook (he totally didn't).

In those times I've wanted to tell him he's not allowed the use the computer when he's drunk, and to stop being a dick.

There are certain times where I feel a slight urge to reply to a lot of 'religious' kinds of posts, but then I remember that I live in Mississippi and questioning anything about Christianity is probably not a good thing to do here.

Otherwise, when people share pictures and whatnot so they can feel good about an issue they either can't or won't actually do anything about, I kind of want to say something right then and there...but I'd rather not start anything.

I generally stay out of arguments between other people too, just so I don't get involved in anything stupid.

"Nobody cares what you are doing, who you are doing it with, or what time you work. Nobody cares about the sandwich you made."

Basically, nobody cares.

Anything political always annoys me and posting relationship drama is just sad when you're in your twenties.

One of my friends recently posted a unfriend me if you disagree ultimatum and I was tempted to either unfriend or say something really snarky, but I didn't. Not that I did disagree, but that shit is just too petty no matter what the topic.

To keep your religion to yourself. I loathe the passive-aggressive religious posts my newsfeed shows me, it just drives me up a wall! Facebook isn't a place to preach or spread your religion! /rant.

Well, there has been a few times I've wanted to tell some female teenager to shut the fuck up about that typical shit.

"Guys are all assholes" and "Sluts are terrible people" and stupid shit like that.

Problem is: no matter how much logic or common sense you may bring into it, they will always end up getting a whole bunch of their friends to come into the status with a hivemind. Then they make you out to be a fool, so it just isn't worth the hassle.

Things I wish I could say to my "friends". I have edited their names.

Dammit, ShEwn . Stop expecting people to respect your beliefs. We all know you only believe in that pagan shit because you think it's cool and interesting. No one wants to watch your Let's Play of some pc game from 1997 because it's the only thing you can run. And no one cares about your blog either. Jesus, I think I liked you better when you were a juggalo.

JT NotMurphy. We get it. You're a whiny loser who loves Jesus so much you whine about how you can't love Jesus some more. Get your life together you fat, Karate man. Also, quit using Altair as a profile pic. You're really nothing like him.

Good Friend's extremely hot girlfriend. I would really love to bone you.

Damn, it feels so good to get this shit off my chest.

Yeah, you need to go cut his brakes or something.

He is something that should not be.

I get these urges all the time. ALL THE TIME! Do I ever follow through? No...

But damn if this thread isn't entertaining to read

Just recently someone posted a supposedly provocative post about not being able to get into the Beatles, because they were 'too safe'. Many people set out to put him in his place, including his own family.

I wanted to reply "So some artists want to fill the world with silly love songs. What's wrong with that?"

Sure it was Wings and not the Beatles, but I think the point still stands.
