Only tangentially related, but seeing as hitting people on the back of the head is hugely unlikely to work, what does? Just curious, partly for any future stories I may write.

Swords being used to cut AND stab. Ask any weapon smith and they'll confirm, for the most part, that knives/swords/etc can either cut OR stab, not both. Certain types of east-asian blade can only cut when used at certain angles (in some cases you can bounce the blade off your skin). I know that realism isn't 100% necessary in films, and I don't expect it, I just feel like dying every time I see someone slice with a rapier or stab with a scimitar. They're just not meant to work that way!

Well, since almost everything else is taken, my complaint is right before a movie, when they preview an action flick and use that percussion beat (doesn't sound much like a drum) at an increasing frequency. If you don't know what I'm talking about, see the WOW Cataclysm advertisement.

As the poster currently above me said, I really wish they would get rid of unnecessary romantic subplots. I have nothing against romance. I will even go so far as to say I actually like romance. But the fact that nearly every single movie has a romance in it, usually poorly shoehorned into the movie, sucks. They don't add any drama or excitement to the movie. They just irritate me. :( It's fine when they are done well, but when they aren't, they are often the thing I hate most in a movie.

Having the bad guys unable to aim. There is a sight on the top of the weapon, please use it. Also, throwing a sword or anything like that. That is no what they are designed for, please don't do it anymore.

3D. I didn't like this fad back in the day, I don't like it now and I don't need a new TV 2 years after I bought a 1080i 46". I like my TV the way I like my 1987 Toyota Tercel, they both work well, they both hold up over the years (TV so far, Tercel still going after 23 years).

Stop it with those obligatory 3rd act drama moments in comedies and romcoms, where 10 minutes before credits the couple has to break up for no sane reason whatsoever.
Applies also to buddy comedies ... and Lord of the Rings ROTK (Frodo/Sam/Gollum love triangle == retarded)

Aside from the subtle undertones of homoerotic dialog the movies portrayed between Sam and Frodo I didn't really notice a love triangle.

What have you been watching?

Beat me to it. I hate those! I almost forgot they did it in LoTR as well.
