Just remember, you don't need love to have fun with members of the opposite sex (or whatever you fancy), you just need protection and consent :)

OP, you dont know heartbreak till Billy Joel [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kM9-ijq3TI4] songs start applying to your life.
If you ever make it to Jeff Buckley [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noQH6lyu0sA], its time to call your mom, before you do something rash.

We should end the thread on that note.

You use a lot of big words. Simplify.

Ok, I found a dictionary.

You'll find out how easy it is to forget people when you get older.
These two get a big thumbs up from yours truly.

Oh fine, you can have some advice.

Listen to "Creep" by Radiohead, "Glosoli" by Sigur Ros, or "Yesterday" by The Beatles.

Hey! You can't make fun of his age unless you are older than him. Don't you know the internet laws!?
Does it count if I have more common sense than him?

Seriously kids, don't get married at 18, this isn't a fuckin movie!
But at twelve I done married my cousin *Banjo music in the background*

OT I hate to be a bastard but get over to coin the cliché there is plenty more fish in the sea unless your me and are doomed to a live of loneliness.

My parents have been together since they were 14 and 15 and still going strong.

That's called an exception.

Empathy +1.

I've been stuck in the friend zone for about three years, eventually you get over it.

Haha, I agree. I'm 14, and all i'm gonna say is this.

It's fine having someone to care about, and someone who cares for you...but jeeeezuz, like pimppeter said, you're 16, it's not like you will find your one+only at that age.

Im just in a little problem at the moment. I am 17(Soon 18), and there is this girl i really like, but she is 20. I really like her and i am sure she likes me, just wondering if it's the same way, but i don't want to destroy our friendship we have built up so far by asking her out. So i am not sure. =/

Sounds to me like someone is alive and interacting with other human beings. You know, seeing as situations such as these are inevitable unless you're a fucking hermit on a desert island and even then, the human psyche would probably construct some sort of infatuation with your basketball-buddy Wilson or somesuch :)
Wilson is a volleyball.

On point: I have become the master of being rejected. Never give up. It just gets easier.

Seriously: At least she was honest with you. Would have been worse if she had a "relationship" (i use the " as you say she didn't return your feelings) with you then ran off and boink a friend as soon as you left town. Yeah, been there. You get over it.

EDIT:

Guy with 20 year old bird. Is she your friend? She will still be your friend whether she rejects you or not. Go for it man!

I once had a friend that was a girl. I asked her out, she said she preferred me as a friend. I got over it and enjoyed many, many years of pissing about with her until we went to different colleges, when we drifted apart.

I really thought this was how things worked until I came on here and found out some people genuinely feel like their heart has been ripped out because they get to do everything that boy/girlfriends do up to (and sometimes including) sex, without any kind of commitment.

Also, I have a mate who talks the way you type. He asked out a guy he likes and got turned dopwn purely because he was too wordy. True story, and an impressive cautionary tale, I feel...

I liked a girl. She didn't like me. Repeat once or twice more. Wow, I'm so unique!

But yeah, soul mates at 16? Nah. You'll be surprised just how small this stuff becomes as you get older.

Actually, my issue right now is that my sister's cute friend from Norway is gonna be visiting for the summer. We've done some chatting online and stuff, but... Just trying to figure out how to work this situation the right way so I don't get friend zone'd out of the gate.
