It's something to do with 4Chan. I dare not venture further. Don't know how the hell it's got on money though.
FOX says not to worry about it. HOLY FUCKING SHIT WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE IN THE 90TH DIMENSION!!!!!1!

Australia uses the DD/MM/YYYY convention also, but that's obvious as we're still part of the commonwealth

Something's gonna happen on the 19th month of 2013?
We write our dates day month year in the order of how large they are. We dont write month day year because it makes no sense, this is probably britain hes talking about. Do all dates in america get written like that? That seems really really weird.
Europe: Little-endian dates - smallest unit first, easy enough to remember and pretty intuitive (fits other conventions like little-endian postal addresses)
USA: Middle-endian dates - just because.
Japan: Big-endian dates - makes as much sense as little endian, with the added bonus that sorting lexically is the same as sorting by date - a lot of programs that include a datestamp in filenames therefore use this format.

I actually don't know about the rest of the world, anyone care to enlighten me about Asia, Africa, the rest of the Americas?
When you look at a global map, Asia is the giant blob between North America and Europe, Africa is the big blob below Europe, and South America is, well, SOUTH of America.

*listening to some offstage whispers*

Oh, that's not what he was asking, was it? [sub]Fuck off, I'm positive that's what he was asking about.[/sub]

Anyways, that's the date when something happens, somewhere, for some reason, because someone thought it was something to do. Or it's when the aliens show and scream 'PRANKED!' about the whole 'God' thing.

I dunno. I'm just causing trouble.

And, from a records perspective, the only date order that would actually make sense would be year/month/day.
It's done that way in Japan.
