We write our dates day month year in the order of how large they are. We dont write month day year because it makes no sense, this is probably britain hes talking about. Do all dates in america get written like that? That seems really really weird.

Depends on the day and which format I've seen last, really. We write things in Day/Month/Year about as often as we buy soda in liters.
