that actually makes alot of sense; if only she saw fit to maybe tell me that when she arrived at that conclusion. things beyond my scope of interest i tend to pick up passively...generally ambivalent to them, though unable to avoid picking up the details of far off conversations id rather drown out for instance. that sounds like it could very well be some weird passively-eidetic-memory version of ADD or something; but that lady seemed very intent on telling me i lacked focus, which is far from true.adakias said:Erm, well actually that kind of thing is common with ADD. It's called hyperfocus. People with ADD can focus on the things they're interested in with extreme intensity, and tend to be very good at whatever they're focused on. Sometimes a better understanding of the disorder helps. Not to say that the diagnosis was correct, just... just saying is all. I hope I don't sound rude; I'm not trying to be. ^.^;
:3 She probably should have been clearer about that. ADD isn't a lack of focus, per se. It's like concentrated focus, not a lack thereof. I read somewhere that the whole hyperfocus aspect was more of a repressed "hunter's instinct" from our ancestors. Like, the normal mindset is a gather's mindset, and the ADD mindset was the other. Just food for thought, I suppose.Frotality said:that actually makes alot of sense; if only she saw fit to maybe tell me that when she arrived at that conclusion. things beyond my scope of interest i tend to pick up passively...generally ambivalent to them, though unable to avoid picking up the details of far off conversations id rather drown out for instance. that sounds like it could very well be some weird passively-eidetic-memory version of ADD or something; but that lady seemed very intent on telling me i lacked focus, which is far from true.adakias said:Erm, well actually that kind of thing is common with ADD. well yeah, im no psychiatrist, but it would seem that your sudden change in writing ability is most likely due to something like stress or another kind of distraction. unfortunately i can't really relate to your issue, i've never had much of a problem with grammarDonMartin said:PS. if you're around that age bracket of puberty/adolescence, then it could very possibly just be a result of all the excess hormones being pumped through your bodyDonMartin said:That is what Im hoping for, and probably what it is.Popido said:Its puberty. Everything will be awwwright.
