Billions upon billions on the Iraq war alone. You should be annoyed at the 43rd President and all of his failures when it came to tax payer money.

I think his anger with the subject comes more from this truly not helping anything. Sure the abstinance sex ed backfired, but it was at least trying to do something. This is just a party.

That being said, most inagurations are like this. It's simply the fact that it is Obama accepting the presidency that makes it a much large event for the media.

I understand their POV, but my point is that we've spent much more in the past 8 years on things that have helped absolutely no one, so the complaint is kind of moot at this point.

How does everyone here in the U.S. of A. feel about the inauguration festivities going on for the whole day? I don't recall any other president's inauguration going on for this long. Isn't it a bit ridiculous or am I just being a stick in the mud? I'm talking about the fanfare as well.

I pose this question to people living in the US, because I'm unsure of the coverage elsewhere in the world. It is still going on and it seems to be continuing well into the night.

I'll agree it's a moot complaint, but not because we've spent much more in the past 8 years on bad things. In fact, that idiotic spending would be a reason not to spend more (digging a hole anyone). It's a moot complaint because every inaguration is like this and always costs plenty. It just has more publicity this year.

I guess you could say let them have their day, but...enough is enough. The man gave a great speech, sure, but honestly this is just dragging. There is nothing more to say. Its like the damn airplane that went down in the Hudson River over here in New York. That took up the news for the next 4 days. This will no doubt be on the news for the coming week.

I was more pissed off that they cancelled every single show (besides the news, which showed it again) to constantly replay a plane crashing into a building for 3 bloody weeks! Okay, 3000 people died, but that's what Documentaries are for.
