I do agree that you shouldn't buy pirate DVD's though. Just download the movies. It doesn't take five orphaned kids hopped up on backyard meth to sneak a camcorder into the theater and record the whole film.
I find this to not only be hilariously over-dramatic, but insulting to people's intelligence. Unfortunately piracy does cost jobs, but it wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't the jobs of those on the bottom of the Movie Industry Food Chain. Maybe if it cost the jobs of shitheel movie execs who don't give a flying fuck about putting out a decent movie instead of bland carbon copies. That would be better. But this isn't a perfect world.

Very fair treatment of the issue. The problem, as I see it, is that too many people on this site automatically assume this is targeted specifically at downloading pirated software. In that sense, yes, some of these claims look a little... exaggerated. But the issue is bigger than that one particular example.Therumancer said:
