This is my little rant

So, today I was in my chemistry class when I noticed I had to go to the restroom. Naturally, I got up and headed over to the restroom to take care of business. I did the thing, and started to wash my hands. Now, here is where this rant of mine starts.

I saw 4-5 guys enter and leave..without washing their hands. No, I don't mean they walked in, turned around and walked back out. I mean, they were actually going to the restroom, finished up, looked in the mirror for a few moments, and left. That's right. They didn't wash their freaking hands! Hey geniuses! Your dick ain't clean! I mean seriously! Is it so hard to spend 30 seconds washing your hands? Didn't we learn this when we were like...5 years old? You always wash your hands after using the restroom, no matter what! Worst of all, I see it all the time. Most of the guys don't even wash their hands with just water! Of course, I know this doesn't apply to all guys. But still, it is nasty. It is disgusting. It is gross. It is wrong. Here's a message to all who don't wash their hands.

WASH YOUR HANDS!!!

Just to add some discussion to this, what are some things that people do that you don't like, especially things you know to be wrong?

I don't understand it either. It's like it's reached a place among the ranks of those minor actions that you have to do if you want to be cool. Things like standing around like you don't care, or pretending to be a dick to people.

I agree entirely. Also, FLUSH THE TOILET!! If you've got enough time to soliloquize on the walls, you can flush the damn toilet and make it to class on time!

I think both of those things have gone the same way as saying "excuse me." I'm six-foot-two, pretty big, and if some eight grade little bastard pushes past me I'm half tempted to see how hard I'd have to hit to get to the cherry filling. Same as the bus, just because you know the asshat giving you drugs doesn't make you tough. You're skinny as a toothpick, say excuse me or I'll snap you like one.

I just don't like it when people ain't manerly, like.

No, seriously, I couldn't tell you how many times I let people through doors, or let oncoming traffic move out into a tight road. I only rarely get thanked. It just annoys me that people don't gratify common curtesy.

You could say that being mannerly requires no thanks, because that's the whole point of manners - being nice without expecting to be thanked for it.

Nah, screw that. Saying 'thanks' is also part of manners.

Maybe they're robots or have some sort of tubing system rigged downstairs?

Maybe they can't stand those blasted blow-driers. Seriously, you'd get quicker results by licking your hands dry.

As a lifeguard at a water park, I enjoy guests who pretend to drown or stay long periods underwater without moving. Especially the ones over 20 years old who act like they're 8.

It's not like keeping track of you and having to jump in and save you when you're only pretending takes our attention away from real emergencies. The important thing is to have fun, because you paid good money to be in this water park, and gosh darn it, if it costs someone else their life, it's money well spent.

I've seen one or two people do this at work. I have been tempted on the occasions I saw this to follow them outside of the toilet and shout "This man went to the toilet, and did NOT was his hands!" at the top of my lungs.

I'd probably get sacked though. Could be worth it in the future, however :D

No, we just want others to wash their hands, because it is what you are supposed to do! It's called proper hygiene!

Do it, man. But if you're worried about losing your job, stick a note on their backs. XD

People's toilet habits are beyond understanding. It's one of the few things where I think the following cliched comment is acceptable; 'you wouldn't do it in your own house, would you?'

From not washing your hands, to pissing on the seat, floor, anywhere but the bowl, not flushing, blocking the toilet with anything and everything. Maybe it's some sort of game the rest of us aren't let in on. Like they meet up every weekend with pictures of the mayhem. I think I'll Google it right no. No image search though.

Before Hong Kong reverted from British rule to China, I went to a high school that had a huge percentage of students from there. Their washroom habits were offensive, to say the least; most of they shat by crouching on the toilet seat, over the bowl, and letting fly, like it was a midden hole. I can also honestly say that I never say any of them wash their hands after using any part of the facilities.

Their excuse was that a public wasn't THEIR responsibility, and since they didn't have to clean it, they didn't feel a need to treat it as a public amenity, merely a location to do a job and leave it as they saw fit. I even walked in an found that someone (no saying who, though) has shit in a full-height urinal.

Now, I will mention that I don't know that that's common behaviour throughout all of Asia, but I do know that those particular individuals were absolutely disgusting.

I've seen some pretty nasty things in the bathrooms at work... and I really don't want to talk about them.

But I've often considered defacing the 'Employees must wash hands before returning to work' signs with the words 'Guests should too.'

Deface it so it says, "Everyone should wash their hands before leaving the restroom." If that doesn't make them wash their hands, I don't know what will.

At WINCO employees can be fired on site for not washing their hands after using the bathroom.

For reason this reminds me of something that I saw in a port-o-potty "this thing is for pissing and shitting, not jacking off."

OT: I know several people who don't remove dishes or food from their rooms for months.

Like just last week when my friend spilt a glass of milk that hadn't been refrigerated for 3 weeks.

He didn't properly clean it up either.

Reminds me of a joke.

A Brit and an Aussie both walk into a restroom, they both use the urinal. When finished the Aussie walks towards the door. The Brit says,

"Excuse me, but where I come from, we're taught to wash our hands after we take a piss"
To which the Aussie replied,
"Where I come from, we're taught not to piss on our hands"
