My sister in law used to work at KB Toys so we would always get the shit her store couldn't sell because it was crap people didn't want. One year I got a 5 inch battery operated portable black and white TV.

A banjo, I am not kidding. My mother gave me a banjo because I had started listening to country music. (And she also asked me to make a wish list so that I would get what I wanted to)
I'd love a banjo for christmas
O.T. really I got clothes but I never tought they were the worst they were some pretty good clothes (I remember I got 2 good looking hoodies, pajama pants, and a snazzy shirt)

Clothes.

My stepmom gave me a pair of frilly pink pajamas covered in cartoony bees. It was hideous and they looked like they belonged to an 8 year old. I was 16.

She was upset that I didn't like them. I tried to be nice about it and told her they were cute but she saw my initial reaction of WTF and so she took them from me right there and got kinda nasty about it.

I can't remember the last present (not including stocking stuffers) I received that I was less than thrilled with. Actually, yes I can. It was a pack of socks, paired up and individually wrapped. Of course, that was leading up to the best present I got that Christmas, a Playstation.

While as a kid I'm sure I got socks and such that soon got lost in the mountian of wraping paper from toys. However in more recent years I got one year what I refer to as the best-worse gift ever. My father mailed it to me and it was a yo-yo with this little screen in it and it was a digitial pet type thing built in. You started with a little digitial egg and by yo-yoing it eventually hatched into a random monster that you could then train by yo-yoing more and if you knew somone else that had the same toy aparently the critters could battle. OH and the yo-yo would light up with you used it. Oh did I mention I was in my mid 20s when he gave this to me? the reason this is the best-worse gift ever is that while I can't do any tricks I tend ot find yo-yoing relaxing though best of all was the fasanation my cat had with the darn thing. If she was hiding under the bed I could alway get her out using that yo-yo as bait.

Last year I got a coloring book and a calendar of average cars...

Long ago, got a huge movie poster to the American version of Godzilla...

Got twenty packs of batteries, wrong size...

Back when Pokemon was a big deal, I got a huge box of Pokemon cards... exept, they were movie cards...

Around 2004(?) I got Dragon Ball Season one... Cut and dubbed, which I would have been slightly okay with if it were the Toonami version... but it wasn't...

Throughout my childhood, I got various toys from cartoons I really didn't care for...

Nowadays, All I want is money so I can buy my gifts myself...

People give me money. People always give me money. People give me money that I then use to buy hardware upgrades or games on Steam.

This saves my relatives the Deer in Headlights scenarios of having to find 4 Gigs of DDR3 RAM with timings of 7-7-7-24 and a Cas Latency of no more than 7.

I did try asking for such things but that's when they started just giving me money.

While of course you should be nice about any gift if it's given freely with good intentions, I alays get the feeling xmas shouldn't be about clothes and socks and bathtime supplies, that's just getting you stuff you need, just my personal opinion, but I like presents to be either daft stuff I wouldn't spend my own money on or things I can't afford or justify buying :D

Whatever the intent, it's very hard to look pleased about socks.

Got an RC car a few years ago. It would have been pretty sweet if it didn't have a foot-long wire connecting it to the controller.

Every year, one of my aunts sends each of my siblings and I a large ornament, usually involving an adorable bear. They are too heavy to be supported by a Christmas Tree, so they end up sitting on a self each year. They wont' stop multiplying.

I really hate those damn ornaments.

It is... Aaanother ton of socks *shows fake gratitude*
Yeah, my parents did this to me as a gag gift once. I have to admit, it was kind of funny.
