I have received socks... But I love socks so that's okay.
I legitimately got coal one year because I stole gum from the store when I was 5. Have not shoplifted since! ^_^

I haven't received a present for xmas or my b'day since i was 12 (which was 20 years ago), so count yourself lucky for getting pressies at all, even if they are "meh".

Damn whingers. Shush. You're getting free stuff.
If I knew how to do a crying smiley, I would use it right now in sympathy.

Sorry man, that sucks.

Every year my mum buys me undies that I never wear. No matter how many times I tell her
I dont want them, she still goes and buys them for me.

An expansion pack to a game I didn't own and didn't want.

This was pretty good example of "What is this....I don't even..."
This ... yeah, one of the few things that on premise alone made me laugh. What game was it, if you remember?
It was 'Wrath of the Lich King' for WoW. Thankfully, I got to return it.

A Liars Dice board game from my cousin. Literally no thought, it was a last minute Toys R Us pick-up.

I like to wrap my gifts differently by putting them in boxes for other products. So my friend opens a box of Town House crackers thinking "What the fuck? He got me crackers?!", but inside is the actual gift, something nice like a movie or game.

we suggested a gift rotation thing -- I forget what it's called, everyone puts names in a hat, and whoever you pull out is who you buy the gift for
I believe you mean Secret Santa?

My birthday's in October, but I received my birthday present from my aunt yesterday, and it was the 'A Simples Life' book from those meerkat adverts I detest. Nobody buys me books, especially not ones written by advertising executives. D:

This one year, everyone had a universal idea to get me a shower gel+deodorant combo. They all got me varying combos from one set... all of the scents were horrible and the shower gel irritated my skin. I guess it isn't that bad, but I used it once and never again.

Clothing since most of it isn't my taste, still i try to be happy about it.
My mom almost had it right is were 2 sweaters , the color was what i do like (black) only problem is they were those tight fitting ones(I hate my build, i buy clothes that fit loosely so that i do not look that small build.

My Uncle had a mate who owned a Newsagency growing up. Every year he would give us the free folders and junk that they couldn't sell. Remember those magazines that would come with a free folders and bits of rock if it was a geology one. We got those. Not the magazine you paid for the free folders...then when someone quietly explained why this was insulting (to those who were spending a lot of money and thought on Christmas) he started giving us things like blank Videos and Cassettes....at this point DVD's were well in and blank tapes went out of fashion with leg warmers...
Still he gave me a Where's Wally folder one year with the magazine that my Mum wouldn't let me "waste" my money on...that was awesome!1

My friend's father had a stroke 2 days ago that resulted in bleeding within his brain.

He's being taken off life-support tomorrow.

I hope you all keep that in mind as you consider what a bad present could REALLY be.

*NOTE* I am not in any way attempting to slam, insult or belittle anyone via this post; just trying to put things in perspective.
