Yes.

Those little things that just GET to you like earworms and won't leave you until you figure out why it is so.

Mine is soundtracks ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS sound different on the consoles compared to the albums sold in the stores/on the Internet. I hear this the worst in Turok 2: Seeds of Evil (if you have the game, start up Track 1 for Port of Adia then go listen to the PC version) and Metal Gear Solid 2 (dig the VR Training tracks then listen to the album versions).

What are yours?

It's the difference between midi and audio. It's tough to explain but midi sounds different on different systems depending on your sound card. Simply put a midi file played from the console version of turok 2 sounds different than when you play it on your pc because your pc and the console have completly different soundcards.

Usually for soundtracks (CD's) they remix everything as audio instead. They could just record the console midi as audio, but they don't for some reason and redo everything instead. Probably because they don't think people will pay money for 8 bit music. I would though.

OT: In the DS version of Chrono Trigger they decided to rename a lot of stuff. It's minor stuff like changing the names of weapons and armor and items, but it drives me nuts. I play the DS version for the extra content but I am so used to the original SNES namings of everything that it drives me bonkers when I search for "Spincut" and it is called "Cleave" instead. Or the triple tech of Marle, Frog, and Crono was called Arc Impulse, but they decided to change it to "Frost Arc".

Arc Impulse sounded so badass it was always my favourite tech. Frost Arc sounds lame in comparison.

By albums I do mean MP3 files of the game soundtrack. It's not like I'm trying to compare a sheet of instrument instructions from one audio card to another, it's when they record MP3's of the song in question that end up sounding different from the (usually) streamed ones.

My little annoying thing that i can't stand devs getting wrong are blatantly obvious ones. For example, when playing Bad Company 2 if your team wins the match it comes up saying "YOUR TEAM LOST..." and if you lose it says "YOUR TEAM WON!!!" it is so screwed up, HOW DID THEY NOT NOTICE THIS STUFF!? They haven't even patched it!!

Back in 2005 I got the Game Boy Advance version of Donkey Kong Country 2. It's one of my all-time favorite platformers, and I was stoked to play it again.

My expectations were horribly shattered a few minutes in. For some inexplicable reason Rare had decided to change many of the in-game sounds, including the death noises for the Kremlings (from a humorous groan to an ear-molesting high pitched whine). It just didn't feel the same anymore.

Fortunately I got the original version again a few years ago via the Wii's Virtual Console.

I hate if subtitles (yes i'm one of those mad people who can hear perfectly fine but must have subtitles on) aren't exactly the same as what's being said...

Yes Crysis 2, i'm looking at you

Your movement rate being different to the speed your legs are moving at, giving you that weird gliding look when you move (happened at higher levels in oblivion). Along the same lines it bugs me when designers don't even put in a half assed attempt at having a "diagonal" leg position between a strafe and straight forward in the player model animation.

Games with sewer systems that seem to have benn built specifically as a deathtrap/obstacle course.

See: FFXII, Ratchet and Clank, Vampire: the Masquerade, Elder Scrolls 3 and 4 etc

Mine would be from Half-Life 2. Im a big fan of pistols in an FPS, and I like to be alble to run and strafe, aim and pop off a few headshots. Now Half Life 2 has secondary fire as right mouse click, which makes sense. So theres no aim down sights on any weapon. All good, except the Pistol doesnt have a secondary fire. The could have at least given me the choice of aiming with the pistol. Instead, the right mouse button just sits there, flaccid and useless.

Eearrgg! Yes! This! Oh, a thousand times this!

This drives me nuts. I mean, it doesn't ruin the game for me or anything, but that's like saying someone flicking rubber bands at your head doesn't cause injury.

Fortunately I often play without subtitles.

Games not letting me pick my own controls, especially if they have shit default ones. R2 is not a fucking quality shoot button, thank you very much.

How in dragon age the shoulder piece of the massive armor goes through the chest or backplate.

I do hope they don't use MP3's for that... sound quality of mp3 is shit...

I have a similar bone to pick with Half-Life 2. Why do the weapons clearly have ironsights or sights or scopes if you're not allowed to use them. When halo did it's no ironsight thing it at least had the decency to let you use a scope if the weapon was designed with one. I killed myself a lot of times hitting every button to try and find a look down scope button. Although i learnt a lot about what the machine guns alternate fire did and the blast radius of the grenades.

Glitching out the scripting in the game. I don't ever actually try to do it, but it happens to me all the time and it sticks with me. Particularly Half Life 2; I've had to load a previous save because of this very often.
