I've got a new one! Only because it happened today at work.
Just to quickly set the context, this is only a temporary job and so I work with a lot of middle-aged, middle-classed women who all have 2-3 kids. It's a bit weird, but it's okay.
Anyway, one of these women was processing a credit card for payment for an order. Pretty simple, its just one of those card machines. It came up with declined. She stood there and went "oh, it's declined" and turned to look at all of us.
So people with common sense kind of realise that you need to tell the customer it's declined. But in this situation, it didn't happen. Cue 3 other women gathering around the spectacle, before coming to the conclusion of: "Oh, maybe it didn't work. Try it again"
7 attempts later, they've run out of paper in the machine. Now we've got the classic 'how-to-replace-paper-in-the-card-machine' scenario.
I'm just enjoying this. It's taken them 45 minutes and they've only just called the customer back, who hilariously, will now find 7 attempts on his card. And they've still not managed to replace the paper. I would do it, but... this is far too entertaining!
