Yeah, this one is true.
I get nervous when I see a bunch of inbox mails. All I can think of is "oh Christ, what did I say this time?"

Wha...

I thought already Zeel got banned, again. Or was that Kross and his Shenanigans?

Anyways, I can count on Escapist forums to be much nicer then many other forums out there on the web. Except when the issues of feminism, sexism, gender topics pop up THEN I can count on the largest shit storm this world has ever seen.

No, he did get banned again, which was the reason for me adding in the "(past, present and dearly banhammered)" part. Rarely does anyone here receive the banhammer twice, but in Zeel's case, it was much deserved.

I think it is Marter (if that's her name...) who likes the Scorpion 3 thing movie.
I have never seen her name it first in a thread though, it's always someone else bringing it up :p

One thing you can count on on the Escapist is non-stop threads about sexism, rape, homosexuality and the like. It never stops...ever. Just when you think maybe there's something actually interesting to read or post about, BAM, they're back.

Marter's a girl now? I better tell him...

That's another thing you see a lot of. If someone has a female avatar, they're assumed to be female.
When I had a Bowie avi most people thought I was a dude.

I can see why people would assume but srsly, it takes ten seconds to check a profile :p

You can count on no one recognizing BarbaricGoose.

Aaaaargh! My life...

That's 10 seconds too many. Much easier to just assume everyone's a man. Or, that's what I've learned to do after years of playing MMOs.

If I want someone to be a girl, that person is a girl!

Well in all seriousness I don't know the sexes of people on here, only one I actually know is a girl who I first thought was a dude is Aris Khandir (Arsenal fan, has their crest as avatar).

But now I know Marter is a guy, thanks for the heads up, and because I got to know it this way I guess I'll remember :p

But on the checking profile thing, even if it is just a few second thing it still takes a few clicks and the computer loading etc, and that's just too much for me to bother :D

Also Marters avatar, I have no idea what girl it is in the picture, it's easy if the persons face on the avatar is someone you reccognice and can be 100% certain it's not a picture of oneself.

And at the end of the day, isn't that the one thing you can truly count on on the escapist?

It's cool. I thought Marter was a girl for ages too.

Marter is basically an honorary girl.

He got banned about 3 posts deep into the thread that contained his surprise resurrection, I think. The mods probably did it for a larf.

You can always count on a poll thread to either:

A) Have a joke option that completely negates the purpose of having a poll as most people choose it.
B) Not have an actual poll.
C) Have a mistake somewhere which the OP rectifies in their post.

You can count on the people who post things like "There be a shitstorm a brewin'" and "I'll just abandon this thread now" to outnumber the people who actually do argue about 100 to 1.

Yeah.

I counted on that.

Sad too. Things were looking optimistic on the first 2 pages. If only featured content threads could be locked, the quality of the forums would go way up.

You can count on the Escapist's collective userbase to obsess over the Hot Topic Flavor of the Month?, and make thread after thread after thread until finally it dies out, and then someone necros it for a second helping.

I've noticed this trend become much more apparent in this year alone.

You can count on me being completely unremarkable and unknown here (even after 4 years (I thought it'd been longer. Huh.)). All day erryday.

I am quite certain that you meant to write "The things you can count on on here."

I prepared two tightly scribbled pages of things I just counted, and now I can't use any of it. I am disappoint.

Here, count on Count von Count.

That it won't be classy as fuck until Blunderboy gets involved. ;)

Also you can count on someone disagreeing with every damn thing you say.

You can always count some people here taking everything way too seriously.
You can always count on searching a random page in a hot topic thread and getting at least 100 hits for the word "strawman".
You can always count on user groups being awesome.
