Two things about Assassins Creed concerning both Brotherhood and the series as a whole
1. Where are they going to place AC3/4 (Does brotherhood count as 3 or is it part of a different numbering system, I can never tell with game series's nowadays)
Basically, what other time period could they use? I have a suspicion that it will NOT EVER be in the World wars, or the latter 1800s, here's why: First of all, remember that bit in AC2 (Spoilers) where Vidic breaks into the assassins hideout and the fight with the Templar soldiers is basically Desmond fighting with a hidden blade while the templars have LEAD PIPES! Now we KNOW they have guns due to the rescue attempt in AC1 where they shoot the assassins trying to rescue Desmond so what they were shy to use guns in AS2 but not AS1?

Also, for both Ezio and Altair, they've only dealt with two types of ranged enemies, bow/crossbow and 16th century guns. Those are still challenging in certain aspects, but the only real way to dodge them is to kill them before they shoot you, or just take their damage. Theres almost no way to dodge quickly enough, especially for gunners. Now imagine gunners, but with better guns, and more of them as in ALL of the guards have them. Thats pretty much everything after the 17th century. I'm sure they could do a 1600s AC3 but thats mostly pikes, halbards, some sorts sword-play and early muskets, so not much different from ACbrotherhood.

My point is that either AS3 will be with Ezio AGAIN which would definatly loss the appeal after THREE games, it will be with a slightly different character but will still feel very similar to ACB OR and I'd rather see this one, place the new Desmond vehicle assassin in the 18th or 19th century, but add a new mechanic to overcome musketeer guards that is familar yet even more awesomely acrobatic. I seriously hope we see AC3 set in enlightenment Europe, or even Napoleonic Europe, great history to be found and cool new mechanics to be added.

Ok thats all done for the future now for the present 2. (Sort of spoilers) Ok, remember that bit in Assassins Creed: Brotherhood were Rodrigo Borgia gets captured and sent to a jail in Spain, and then it sort of just cuts to, what?, 16 years later and he breaks out has thier huge thing with the King of Argon and Castille and THEN Ezio shows up? Remember that? Did anyone else see a giant red flag boasting the words THOSE IN BETWEEN TIME PERIODS WILL BE DLC!! Anyone else get that impression?

They wanted to take Desmond alive. Although why they didnt bring some pepperspray is a bit perplexing.

What I've been hearing most of the time from similar threads all over the place is that AC3 should either be in 18th or 19th century Britain or feudal Japan. Now, feudal Japan has been done to death in Japanese games, and Ubisoft has stated that they want to take the Assassin's Creed games to settings that have been seldom explored by other titles.

That said, I would much rather see it in Napoleonic-era Britain. They would probably pit you mostly against thugs and police in this setting, enemies that at this time period would still be armed with batons or knives rather than guns. However, when the army gets called on you, they would all be armed with fairly advanced muskets, forcing more flight-based tactics.

There is one mechanic they should definitely add for the next game: disguise. The Assassin hood is silly anywhere other than the medieval Holy Land, and realistically would make you stick out like a sore thumb. Let us walk the streets dressed as a civillian, or a merchant, or a soldier, or whatever the situation calls for. Some interesting gameplay could come out of this, Ubisoft, make it happen!!

There has been a lot of speculation about the next game in the series... It's almost far too confusing to debate over...

I figured the next game would be some a few centuries down the line, with muskets starting to be the weapon of the day, but blades and the like are still around, like around the French and American revolutions, since it would seem likely that templars and assassins alike would have had their fictional hands in such important historical events- *SPOILER* although now that Desmond has the apple, it seems to be largely pointless for him to go back to any other of his ancestors anyways *end spoiler*

*SPOILERS* First things first, it was Cesare Borgia that was thrown in jail, Rodrigo Borgia was already dead at the time; and second of all, yeah I did notice that and considering the past DLC for AC2, I had already figured that out without the... subtle hint so generously given to us.

A lot of people seem to think the French Revolution, but I don't know if I would like that, I'm really not interested in that setting at all.

Yeah, Truth Cake's got a point. But if the story really DOES end with the apple and the next game is all about the future, that would be a HUGE waste of a game series, visiting only two time periods in a single series. Pathetic. And I know a lot of people arent really interested in Napoleonic or say around the 7 years war (Then again most people dont like pre-30 years war period but brotherhood was basically that) but American Revolution and Napoleonic or Post-Napoleonic Britain would be a great idea. Still, I really hope they continue the animus deal, because if they cop out and only start using future Desmond as a character, I think it would flat out ruin the entire series. Feudal Japan might not be a bad idea, but I dont like the idea of going backwards in the continuenity, I think a gradual forward in history would be more interesting than going back.
