My belief on what happens after death?

There is no such thing as after death. The question itself is flawed. Death is the end, at least for the person/organism in question. Yet it is not to be overtly feared, as death is all part of the natural world. Simply try your best to make sure everyday that your life was worth living and that there are as little regrets as possible as there is no other chance, no other place or time to make things right.

That is my belief on death.

I use to ponder this question a lot until I came to the realization.

When I'm dead, I won't care that I am dead. You can't stop death so I won't care about my death.

Very apathetic view, but if you can't control it stop worrying about it.

Well I think its like what you were before you were born, nothing. Mabey you might move on to another existence but with no memory of the perviouse one, and become a new person.

Straight up scientific acceptance. Consciousness is the result of electricity in the brain; you die, the electricity goes off, everything stops.

But...I mean, who cares? You have a century (for our generation possibly significantly longer) before the lights go out, most of which will be spent in a state of self-awareness. If you find this notion depressing, you need to develop a better outlook on that.

I definitely don't believe in any kind of perceivable afterlife, because when you die, even if there is some sort of external spirit or soul, eyes, nerve endings, and most importantly the brain are all biological things. If there where an afterlife it would be so nondescript that projecting any human qualities or morality to it is absurd.

I can think of no substantial evidence to support the ancient assertion of an afterlife,
But considering that the Afterlife is a supernatural phenemom just what kind of evidence were you expecting? Science is great for the natural world but can neither prove nor disprove anything supernatural.

To find evidence we would have to search for a revelation which I believe to be in the Bible. As God's word it provides with more than enough evidence to support the existence of a Heaven and Hell.
As far as science and the supernatural, I agree that the afterlife cannot be disproven or proven, but as there is no scientific evidence to support it, I stand by my claim.

And yes, there is always the assumption that the Bible is the word of God and that we can trust the ancient assertions that its culture makes. Excuse me if I am skeptical of such an edited work (to me, the first ecumenical councils alone are enough to shake its credibility) but I am a scientific thinker, not a dogmatic one.

Faith is all well and good, but I have faith in the few things I feel are proven well enough to qualify for my faith, not in what has been historically popular to have faith in. If you feel differently then fine, but do not claim holy writ to be an attempt at objective evidence.

First you get to find out that your mind ran on energy and the energy doesn't just disperse after death. You go on some amount of journey to get from here to some other point in the afterlife. You then get to do a review of your life where you see everything objectively. You know exactly what you had available and how your choices affected you and others. Then, based on the lessons your soul learned in your last life you pick out what ones you want to try to do next or do over until you believe you are done coming back. You may also go to a place of punishment if you believe you should, but that tends to have a time limit (which can be quite long but a time-limit nonetheless).

While on the other side you get to be with the Divine Creator (which isn't specifically male or female actually) and that is quite nice. All your questions are answered, and you have a chance to visit others you care about or have admired and wanted to meet, etc. You are also wrapped in a deep feeling of love and care. It's nicer than here but "here" is a lot like college. You want to do well so you don't need to repeat courses and so you can improve yourself. That's about all I've got right now. There are plenty of books if you want to investigate the subject more such as:

"Voyage into History" by William Barnes which is about the Titanic designer who has was reincarnated as a teacher.

"Looking for (James) Carrol Bekckwith" by Robert Snow which is about an artist that was reincarnated as a cop.

Life After Life by Raymond A. Moody which has a collection of near death stories collected into one volume. There are plenty of them out there and it is about the best empirical evidence we can get at this time. He has a website by the same name and a new book coming out this year.

There is another one whose title I can't quite remember, it was something like "The Good News: My journey to hell and back again" about someone dying and having a much more negative experience and then getting brought back. It wasn't about a dream (like 23 Minutes in Hell-that isn't it). The guy had a heart-attack or something and talks about how he feels fine and wonders about the guy on the bed that kind of looks like him. Then he finds that the hallway outside the door isn't in color and there are people there who can see him and they all seem headed somewhere. Later he gets seized and brutalized when he refuses to go and calls on God or Jesus and is lifted away from his attackers and comes back to life. It was an interesting story but it's been some time.

Go have fun researching. It's one of life's big questions and worth looking into for yourself!

Well, to be fair, it's not just electricity, and it doesn't just "turn off." There is a whole slew of other, often biochemical, mechanisms going on, even after one is considered dead. I mean, we can't be sure that you don't stay somehow aware of youself and your pain after primary brain activity is done until you are totally decomposed. That's why I want to be cremated. NO GREY AREAS! :D

I have no reason to believe there is anything else than this life. So I don't believe there's an afterlife, reincarnation or stuff like that. Even if there was such a thing as eternal life, I'm not quite sure I'd like to have it. I mean... ETERNAL. That's a long time.

Death? He's a nice guy. You can have a good laugh over poker with him. I remember gaining immortality by bluffing him in a game of poker. :)

Why should I care? I'll be dead before I know the answer. So, I see no reason why we should dwell on it.

Well death is complicated I've never thought there is anything after death yet I've never been afraid of it but for some strange reason I've always been afraid of letting someone else die, I'm not even sure what my belief about death is...

I'm a Christian, so I believe that every person will either go to Heaven or Hell when they die.

Search bar approved. I think.
Now, what is your belief of what happens after death? This isn't meant to be a depressing topic, but it could be for some.
I believe that you simply lose your mind, quite literally. I have no idea what the absence of a mind would be like, because I have no experience with that that I can recollect, but I don't think I become a ghost or have an afterlife or anything. I believe that I'm simply gone.

Post a response, would you kindly?

EDIT: "I don't know" is not a proper response. Of course no one knows, I'm asking for beliefs.

I simply agree with you.I also don't believe in the afterlife, although it is quite comforting believing that there is something better after a misserible existance here,on earth. But as comforting as it is,it's also absurdly ridiculous.

I believe your consciousness moves on to some other plane of existence. It may be a collective of consciousness in the way of a Heaven-type afterlife, or having you meander around the earth, bound to the soil as literally a ghost of your former self.

Could be anything, really.

Death happens. People die. You can't stop it, no one can. You can mourn, but what good will that do? You'll die one day. People will cry and mourn. There will be, or will not be; an afterlife.
