90% of AC:B was originally planned to just be in AC2, there is various developer diary videos were they clearly state "We planned to put the city of Rome in AC2 but the map was just so big and detailed that we couldn't fit it into AC2" hence the birth of Brotherhood witch is my eyes is much more of an expansion

I personally feel the entire series needs a break at this point.
When your creative director leaves the series (and your company) because he's tired with the direction from management to milk the series into the ground, I think there's at least some merit to my opinion.

I love the Assassins Creed series. But I do agree with some of the stuff you said.
I also want to see more of Altair. Like his training, or what happened after he became Grand Master (thank you Revelations) or how he made the Armor of Altair in Venetian style during the Middle Ages. Altair IS a baddas, but boring character, because he was raised to be an Assassins so he doesn't have much social experience. However, by the end of Assassins Creed he's become much wiser and has actually developed. Good, Ubisoft, I would like to see more of that please.

As for Ezio, I don't really have a problem with him. I like his comic one-liners here and there. In fact I'm looking forward to Revelations. Now that he's a lot older I'm curious to see if he's evolved a little. Or if he WILL evolve. Also, Revelations is the final chapter of Ezio's story, so your problem's solved Ezio haters :)

And also, Ubisoft have said that Assassins Creed 3 will feature a new character as well as a new time period. I've heard that it could be a female assassin in WW2 or in Ancient Japan. Also this: http://www.videogamesblogger.com/2009/06/10/assassins-creed-3-will-see-desmond-become-the-ultimate-assassin.htm I personally would like to see an Assassins Creed game where you get to play a whole bunch of different assassins in different time periods. Remember the statues of the assassins beneath Ezio's villa. Yeah, I wanna play as them! I wanna kill Xerxes and Chingis Han!

I don't think Desmond is a boring character. It's just that he is surrounded by a bunch of far-greater characters that make him seem pale in comparison. I leave the Animus to talk to Shaun and Rebecca, Lucy is ... meh.

Love assassin's creed, love Ezio, like Altair, don't care about Desmond. That being said, I'm okay with there being one third, final, game with Ezio as the main character. I mean, over the course of the last two games I did get fairly connected to him, from literally playing as him during his birth, to seeing everything that's happened to him, and just getting sweet revenge. I'm honestly getting an "MGS4" feel from Revelations, and I'm alright with that. Three games playing as the same guy is not that many, and I think if this really is his last game, it'll be a nice send-off to a damn cool assassin. It also looks like they mean to resolve Altair's story, and that's a good thing.

I love the series, but I don't like the way that it's going. Property management was an irrelevant minigame in II, but Brotherhood is starting to resemble Accountant's Creed. Maybe it's just me, but running around the map buying up shops to earn money to... buy more shops was about as fun as sending faceless Assassin recruits off to do meaningless missions to earn experience, for nothing.

And regarding Brotherhood, what happened to the actual assassination? II had quite a lot of assassinations in and around the main story, but the dirty business was largely relegated to side quests in Brotherhood. And Desmond, dear god... since the feedback about that whole mess is almost universally negative. I would have imagined that they'd try to focus less on it, not more.

I'm unsure about the combo chains, but those aside, the meat of Brotherhood's gameplay has improved from II. The problem is that nothing else has. It has a weak floppy story, pointless new features (checking your emails and exploring Monteriggioni?) and overemphasis on gimmickery like Leonardo's war machines, and that is why II remains the best Assassin's Creed game for me. I really wish that they'd scale things back to the basics of free-running and stabbing people, and focus the game back on more complex, interesting assassinations rather than a mess of different missions.

I agree with you, but you should finish Brotherhood first. Some things you said there might change.

I love the dual story of Desmond and his way cooler ancestors. The the more recent history stuff like the Templars controlling people through capitalism and entertainment(very subtle Ubisoft)get a bit to convoluted in some case and sometimes seem shoehorned in. They also need to fix the brotherhood mechanic. All i did was use the arrow storm. They need to add incentives to call individuals. While at first the are good at taking out far guards the cross bow is a lot better. But they also need to do something with the economy this. if they insist make it rpg esque. And no more great armor for the puzzles. But i loved the series. i cant wait for revelations

I've only play AC2 and ACB, and i loved them both! I have the Platinum Trophies for both! I can't wait for Revelations, I hope i can add a third to my collection. I personally love all the characters and hope Revelations doesnt end on another Cliff hanger! - But i won't get my hopes up!

I actually love the way the franchise is going.

I love both Altair and Ezio and am warming up to Desmond.

With Revelations we will see the end of Ezio's epic journey(and possibly his death), get to play again as the original assassin Altair and further flesh out Desmond's story, setting up AC 3.

I just love how this game mixes (quasi)history with parkour elements. I was genuinely upset when I finished some of these games, I liked them so much. Felt the same way with some POP games.

We cant see his death. He will still have to father a child for Desmond to eventually get the genetic memory. Sorry to be a killjoy but thats how i see it. But they could possibly work around it.

I LOVE the AC series.

My one serious complaint is that Altair's main game is so meh compared to the others. I'm almost wishing for an AC Anniversary or something where they redesign the entire game in order to make it feel more like AC2.

I'd really like to get one of them, but I don't know which one. (I'm using Steam for this.) The one with the minstrels, the one that lets the computer do the work for you a la Splinter Cell Conviction, the one in between those two or the one that's not out yet?

personally i liked the games, although they did frustrate me when the controls decided to throw me off a building, even though i was pressing forward, i haven't played much of brotherhood although i did like the multi player.

i do agree with ReservoirAngel on Desmond being boring and i to hope that you get to play as a different character in revelations (even just for one mission) because the others are starting to get boring.
