Whatever, just wash your hands.
Crap, thq was one of the few publishers I didn't mind much, I hope relic and vigil games don't get bought by activision or ea... maybe they go off on their own or something, or team up... I don't know, they better be ok.

OT: if this turns out to be true it will be a sad day considering that THQ is a fairly old and well known studio, and double a shame because that 40K MMO had the potential to be awesome.
The WH Fantasy MMO had huge potential. Look what happened to it. Again, you can't release a game like Space Marine and expect people to support you as a dev company.

Oh and Darksiders. Where the attack combo can easily be replicated with a perpetual motion "drinking bird" machine and a button that holds down W.

I would die inside if Relic was bought out by EA. I really would be.

I would rather have Relic close down than be picked up by EA. At least there would be no decline and stagnation that way.

This is bad. Bad, bad, bad.

Soon enough, I get the feeling that the only publishers left will be EA, Bethesda, and Activision...

It's starting to get like the whole phone company situation here in America. >.<

EDIT: IF it's true, of course.

Well at least the Jump from DoW 2 to a generic EA RTS wouldn't be all that startling.

Speaking personally at least, loved DOW1, DOW2 was like CnC3 to me, what a disappointing POS.

Again, speaking personally.

I don't know about the quality of the WH fantasy MMO because I don't enjoy the standard MMO gameplay, but would you mind elaborating on why you hate Space Marine so much? I played it, it wasn't amazing but it was a fun rental, the melee combat was fun with a somewhat unique health mechanic to mix things up, the shooting was functional, and the graphics were fine, admittedly the story was just "meh" but I would say that about most games, so what was it that you hated so much?

I haven't had a good THQ game in some time, but damnit they were at least neutral or neutral+1 in my books. I think the only major company that still has no negative good will is Valve. Just about everyone else can just fuck right off.

But....but I actually kinda like THQ. Out of all the publishers I can really think of, they seem to have the best ratio of good games to crap. And, you know, Relic. If this affects Dawn of War 3, I'm going to be the saddest of pandas.

No offense taken. However, it would also affect Company of Heroes, which a lot of people also like. I'd hate to see either series wrecked over this.

Oh yeah. I liked CoH quite a bit. Though there hasn't been a new one in ages has there?

My main beef with DoW 2 is that I never thought of Warhammer as a battle of 3-5 guys against 3-5 other guys. It was always planet ending wars to the death to me. So the original captured that much better.

Wha? Nooooo. :(

I actually kinda like THQ, if only because i've never heard anything about them that suggest that they are jerks. Okay, they release alot of DLC but so does everyone else.

Still, if this is true, this is really sad. I hope that EA doesn't pick up any of their developers. :s

There have been rumors of a Company of Heroes 2 being worked on.
And as for Dawn of War 2's limited squads, while it isn't quite the titanic battles you'd expect, it is actually closer to the source material. The Space Marines kill foes by the thousands while sustaining next to no casualties.

At least DOW2: Retribution gave you the option to use swarm tactics in the campaign.

Go back and read Kotaku, THQ released a statement, nothing has been cancled and this has been a horrible rumor. Yay internet for freaking out so quickly and spreading panic so easily.

I personally hated that. The fact that DoW2 forced you to work with the 4 squads meant you had to actually come up with a plan of attack rather than throwing soldiers at your enemy till something broke. Part of the reason I'm not big on Starcraft.

I hope THQ can keep going and possibly do better. Aside from Homefront, I rather like most of their games, especially the Warhammer 40k IP's.

I rather liked it. It gave me more options on how to level up my heroes, because I was choosing between making them one man army death dealers, or support units that would buff infantry squads. Plus, it let me roleplay as a dickish Imperial Guard general who throws troops into a meat grinder.
