Angelus Apatrida
Annihilator
Artillery
Destruction
Evile
Grief of War
Heathen
Legen Beltza
Municipal Waste
Onslaught
Stormtroopers of Death
Suicidal Angels
Tankard
Warbringer

My attempt at a suggestion list, mixing old and new bands
I'm not a big thrash fan, but I completely second Evile. Absolutely love them.

Also, black and thrash metal are distant cousins. You can hear thrash in black metal bands.

If I just keep my voting limited to the traditional big 4, it will definitely go like this:

Megadeth > Anthrax > Metallica > Slayer

And this absolutely doesn't mean that I dislike Slayer. It's just not my style of thrash metal.

Outside of the big 4 thrash isnt really my biggest strong suit when it comes to knowledge, and therefore recommendation.

But of the big 4 i can say that, for me, the order is Megadeth, Anthrax, Metallica, Slayer, if that helps i'm glad.

I'd say Pantera is more Groove Metal, their earlier albums were Glam and had some atrocious album artwork

Pantera basically disowned their first 4 albums because it was so far from heavy metal. Cowboys From Hell and anything after might as well be a different band from the Pantera that made the first 4 albums.

gotta go with Sylosis, they are the best thrash metal band I know of.

I was going to post them, but they aren't straight thrash metal. I do really like them though.

Fuck yes my kinda thread!! What you want is Testament. Everyone always says that the big four are Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax and that's because they are fucking ignorant. So many fantastic bands have been pushed under the bus over the years, Testament being one of them.
One of the great things about Testament is that they remained fucking HEAVY even through the 90s (unlike most of the big four... Metallica and SLayer I'm looking at you).
is off of their latest album that came out like 2 or 3 years ago. Fucking heavy........

Also check out Municipal Waste ESPECIALLY if they play near you.

I like testament's early stuff, like, when they were a thrash band, before they started playing black metal. Municipal waste are also good, only started listening to them like 2 weeks ago when I saw the vid for Sadistic Magician.
