I don't see anything particularly annoying about it, compared to other short-form statements of approval for a post.

I'd agree, all in all it makes whoever does it sound arrogant and narrowminded. It's never later in on a thread, it's like 4th post terrority where someone swoops in, types four words then /thread after. It's a trend I would be quite happy to see die.

Also, You totally need to get a blue bird going on as each time I see your avatar I think about how fucking awesome it would look.

Yeah, somebody's said that to me before. Actually, it might have been you. And yes, a blue bird would be awesome.
I have indeed mentioned it once, i believe it was when we discussed one of your reviews and it just came up at the epicness of the bird avatar. Their is a group on the escapist called the E team, they might be able to help you, or at least point you in the right direction for getting a blue bird?
