Mass Effect
-My biggest problem, putting our DLC that is somewhat relevant to the ending after we know what happens! The rest of the game was amazing though. (I'm not saying anything else, we all know the rest of the issues.)

Dragon Age
Mostly the second game. Sorry I'm an old school gamer from way back when, I was like a kid in a candy store the first game.
-Reuse of dungeon maps
-Kind of a linear game, you go to point A to get to point B, ect...
-The third act, WHERE IS THE URGNECY? WHY AM I PLAYING AT THIS POINT?! The first part of Act 3 you were in a game without too much purpose!(WTF)

KOTOR and KOTOR 2 The Sith Lords
-Story was amazing in the first one, thought the graphics and enviroment could be better.
-The second one, characters where deep but the game was rushed and and pushed out way too soon leaving holes in the story and quite a few glitches.

I have a very long and complicated relationship with the Silent Hill series, don't get me wrong, I love it to bits, but there are a few things about it that just... UGH!

1. Dat voice acting. Okay, some of it is really good, like Heather's VA from SH3 (the first one, not the "collection"), but the others? Dear God, it's like they were acting so hard to try to get an award or something. Terrible.

2. Camera. The camera was fucking terrible, outside of SH: Homecoming since they let you control it, and it added to the frustration since there some really tight spaces and having a camera that didn't want to cooperate was a ***** to deal with.

3. Basically everything after SH4. Downpour was this close to being good, but it failed at being a scary game, which was the whole point.

World of Warcraft. For those that also play the game, I won't be talking about Wrath of the Lich King, The Burning Crusade, or Classic because I came it at Cataclysm and I am so far playing through Mists of Pandaria.

1. The community. Good freaking God, I have only seen a more wretched hive of scum and villainy in Xbox live, and even then I don't see much of a difference between the two. Those that PvE, PvP, and Roleplay are always at each other's throats over who's better, and even then the people within the communities are fighting over who's the best at their field. Unfortunately those that just want to play the game are always caught in the middle of the bile that is spewed back and forth between these groups. And don't even get me started on the faction war.

2. The daily system added for Mists of Pandaria. I really don't like how they added Daily Quests as gateways to get better items for dungeons, raids, and whatnot. I understand their goal was to get us out in the world more, but the tediousness of these things drives me mad. You're doing the same things over and over again, and the grind for rep takes forever. I don't know how bad it was back in previous expansions, but I do NOT want to know.

3. Cataclysm's Story. Cataclysm is commonly regarded as the worst expansion of all time by long-term players of WoW, and yet it's the one I came in on and got me hooked to the game. I do have to agree in that the story is pretty bad. I know war is never fair, but the portrayal of both sides should be. The losing side was portrayed as a sniveling dog and that the simple act of fighting back was a war crime in of itself, while the winning side was pretty much kicking dogs left and right but played the victim card when the losing side dared to strike back. A lot of content was rushed in favor of revamping old zones, and the recent content suffered as a result (look up "Female Worgen Fiasco" to see what I mean) and the story with it. The ending was disappointing, a lot of decisions didn't make sense, and all in all it left a sour taste in everyone's mouth.

I really could add more on what I hate about the game, but the limit was three.

Favourite series.... thats a hard one. Ill go with Civilization though.
There is no future. why in 5 games they still fail at this? i want to play from the past to the future. i want to go from 4000 BC to 4000 AD. i dont wnat to make a spaceship and win the game. and i dont want to play alfa centauri which starts with the spaceships. i want one game to have one huge timeline of civlization. i totaly respect the guy that played civ2 for 4 years, he made something decent at it. but most cases the AI civs just freeze up waiting for "endgame". no i want robots, i want spaceships i want the future coming from the past. this annoys me to no end, why does evolution have to stop at 2000.

Games: The fact that Resident Evil 4 and 5 exist at all.

TV: All the weird little things in Red Dwarf that don't quite match up. Gotta use some imagination to make them work. I'm ok with that, though.

Books: Order of The Phoenix. Fuck off, Filler.

Movies: Busta Rhymes boxing with Michael Meyers. Get real, Meyers would whip you around by the dreads, my son.

Silent Hill
-Aweful voice acting
-obtuse puzzles
-the somewhat silly ending to silent hill 1 if you got everything right.

Fallout
-The lack of humor in 3
-Turn based strategy
-Stupid mini nukes I always kill myself with.

Resident Evil.
-5 and 6
-No more horror, Honestly at least resi 3 you crapped your pants and loadly exclaimed "Shit, shit shit shit shit!" when nemisis came by for a hug.
-Chris redfield.

Kingdom hearts
-The story
-grotesque large hands and feet of non disny or ff characters
-the disney and ff characters in the game just don't fit in with everything else.

Dragon Age.
- 2's plot
- Not all that engaging combat
- Zeveran

Sonic the Hedgehog:
[ul]
[li]Sonic '06.[/li]
[li]Sonic '06.[/li]
[li]Sonic '06.[/li]
[/ul]

Okay, I can come up with a more serious answer.

Sonic the Hedgehog:
[ul]
[li]Sonic '06.[/li]
[li]Big the Cat missions in Sonic Adventure/DX.[/li]
[li]E-102 Gamma and Tails/Robotnik missions from Adventure/Adventure 2.[/li]
[/ul]

Final Fantasy:
[ul]
[li]Final Fantasy XIII[/li]
[li]Final Fantasy XIII-2[/li]
[li]Final Fantasy XIII-3[/li]
[/ul]

That worked out perfectly!

Mass Effect:
[ul]
[li]The first game has pretty abysmal gameplay when compared to the other two.[/li]
[li]The scanning mini-game in the second is mind-numbing.[/li]
[li]The dialogue options were cut down in the third game.[/li]
[/ul]

You could always play a full game of Civ and then continue on to Alpha Centauri...

Anyhoo, I don't 'hate' these things so much, it's just little observations and things that could have been done better.

Assassin's Creed (particularly Brotherhood onwards)

1. The 'lone assassin' thing? I like that! If you're not going to make the managing of other assassins interesting, don't bother with it, it won't make that much of a difference, a little more control over them in the field would have been nice, too.

1a. Also, either I have some tie to the Assassins through family, or I have some other large and important reason to be recruited into a secret organisation, and yet you also seem to advocate recruiting schmucks off the street who get into at least one fight with guards, and pretty much anyone who says 'I wanna be an assassin!'. Yeah, that'll keep the organisation secret.

2. Give me *some* credit Ubisoft, I think I can figure out how to do half of this stuff myself, stop the rails, I wanna get off!

3. I know Sean is supposed to be comic relief, but putting an unwelcome joke in EVERY database entry? Not necessary, like at all. (III more than anything else)

Favorite series? The Legend of Zelda

3 things I hate?

DS Zelda games
Skyward Sword and the graphical style of WW (the game was fantastic though)
Zelda 2

those are just games though. I usually hate swimming, rising/falling water levels, the sound of falling into pits in Zelda:Link's Awakening.

Kingdom Hearts:

Fucking Atlantica. Does anyone actually like that level, in any of its incarnations? Also Wonderland.

Everything about how Chain of Memories played.

The fans. Especially the ones who won't shut up about Kingdom Hearts III, and within those fans, the ones who consider the non-numbered titles as "side stories" and skip over them, even though they're important to the plot and provide the setup for what will eventually be KHIII.

Dishonorable Mentions: Final Mixes being exclusive to Japan.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Just... get the Kingdom team off that project. It's getting ridiculous.

I never understood this, and no one's ever explained it to me. What's so complicated about it?

Elder Scrolls:
1. Some of the bugs are minor but some can actually be quite annoying (I haven't come across many of them though)
2. Combat (in Morrowind it was bad and it became OKAY over the course of the next two games)
3. Oblivion had a weak main story (although I did like Martin Septim and Baurus)

Damn ninjas!

I was going to say , i hate that final fantasy is getting direct sequels . Never has the phrase " YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG" been so accurate to describe a developper . Fuck me i'll tell them what to do to make a ton of money, for free . Get three developpment teams , each start making a SINGLE PLAYER Final fantasy game a year appart . Since there is not suppose to be a connection between games , they can easily get away from yearly releases from different developpment teams , having the games be different but with similarities . They would make a ton of money . They have the chance to take the COD formula and do it better AND have it make sense AND have no one complain!

The hardest part is picking my favourites...

Crusader Kings 2
Raising levies and assembling armies is tedious. War and expansion is too beneficial and not detailed enough.

Civilization series
The series as a whole suffers from featuritis. The original had some kind of simplistic perfection that can not be improved upon, but it would be pointless buying the same game over and over again.

Half-Life
The Xen level is too odd, and was a bad way to end the game.

Dragon Age:Origins
Inverse difficulty level, it's hard in the beginning and easy in the end. Also the game system is quite imbalanced, thats a flaw of most BW games. Also level scaling.

Fallout:NV
Bethesda engine, silly physics, too many pointless objects - I'm supposed to play something RPG'ish not a juggling simulator. The UI is pretty bad as well, especially the crafting interface. Also level scaling.

GTA series
The very few quick time events needs to die. Mini games outside the core engine is horrible. If I wanted to bowl I would go bowling or play a bowling sim. If I felt like drinking I would open a bottle of whiskey. GTA is not a life simulator it's a driving/shooting game in an open world with stories attached. Stick to that formula please.

Eve Online
I don't like... No wait. I love Eve-O dearly but it has too many flaws to mention. Several volumes could be written about the bugs and game design shortcomings of that game. And when I'm done writing about it, it would all be fixed and as many new shortcomings would be introduced.

Darksouls
1- GFWL
2- black bars
3- non respawn bosses. A bit much to ask I know, but I had so much fun fighting them

COD
1- Progressively inane story plot
2- Activision
3- Wasted potential
Mind you, this is just my opinion. It's potential flame material but I love the series and I hate to see it in it's current state

Metroid Series

- Samus new anime design (one of things that made Metroid unique was it wasn't relying on dumb appeal)
- The unwanted helpful hints telling me where I should go to next in the Primes
- Changing from the inovative story telling in the early 'roids to basic boring forced text and other things that have been done a million times in other games.
- How they usually end with the last gun being over-powered compared to the rest and straight forward
- Evil Samus, TWICE!!! (they could've thought of something better)

I would've mentioned Other M if it hadn't already been slaughtered.

Half-life Series

- Saving any time takes away from any challenge
- Lack of boss fights (I reckon that's one way to improve it a lot, you get used to the same enemy's over and over)
- Annoying game titles that confused me when buying it in the first place, Half-life 2, Episode 1 & 2, jeez. Same for my friends.
- How they brought back that special weapon right at the beginnig if Episode 1 (I like it when you build up to the special things)

Well there *is* the Eastern Front mod, haven't tried it myself, but I hear it's supposed to be pretty well-polished.
Yeah, I have had that for a while.

Still, it's not exactly official.

Play Dream Drop Distance, have you got to the end? (or finished it?) The plot twist serves no purpose but to confuse you. Other than that, the plot is easy to piece together, all the stuff from Birth By Sleep can be pieced together with the other games and so forth, but I really think they jumped the rails with 3D.

Also, was Re:Coded even needed? It did nothing for the plot and now it does in 3D...
Oh yeah, I bought Dream Drop Distance on release day. I'm not totally sure what you mean by plot twist, though.
Do you mean the "true" Organization?

To me, 3D pulled all of the pieces together and everything made more sense.
