Hyper Potions... Full Heals... Revives... The place was full of free loot. More than she could carry, and more than she could hope to defend. Still, she took enough for a few days, and a little extra for bargaining. Maybe she could get someone to get her some smokes.

The Center was small, and it didn't take her long after gathering her prizes to find the door to the basement. "Lieutenant!" Ellie waved to get his attention. "I found them!" She had to wonder how they had all been held down there. It still looked like they would have had the advantage in numbers. How could a few trainers have defeated all their pokemon, taken them away, and then managed to corral them all into this room? Green Team was immediately placed lower than the Yellow Team in her opinion.

"Come on, it's safe to come out..." she sighed, rolling her eyes before walking back over to the counter. She returned her pokemon before rummaging through the front desk, pocketing anything of value and haphazardly glancing through papers.

Emerging from the basement with the rest of the green team, Addison was careful to keep her expression neutral, as much as she wished to smile. It would be important though, she was sure, to not look too pitiful or too pleased.

The first would make her look weak. There would already be doubts due to green team's capture. She didn't want to add to that. The second would make her look as though she had the gall to expect she was entitled to be rescued and she didn't want that either. Best not to draw attention to herself just yet. No doubt when whoever was in charge here began to demand explanation her fellow grunts be quick to try and deflect as much blame as possible, so odds were they'd try to load as much of the blame as they could to the two imbeciles that revealed the druglab and the rest of the team by fleeing there....and that...well, that worked fine for her. If nothing else it should at the very least elevate the lab crew a little ways above the rest of them.

She couldn't care less about most of them though, after all, some heads were likely going to roll but as long as she wasn't stupid, it probably wouldn't be her. Not her concern though. She was here for the science. With any luck, the rescue party could use someone with her skills.

Being certain to stand a decent distance from the rest of green team and especially the two grunts who'd blown the lab's cover, she waited for what she expected would be one hell of a de-briefing and hopefully reassignment to a more competent group of goons. Green it seemed, was not working out to be her colour. Until she saw where the chips were going to fall, best to stay quiet, stand off towards the side and pay attention...

Max's fist collided with a defeated engineer's jaw. It felt good. It felt really good.

"What the hell were you doing here anyway?"

"...fix..ing powerlines from Saffron." said the idiot, spitting out blood.

"We didn't know about this fucking Green team you keep talking about!"

Max had spent a few minutes interrogating the guys and was finally convinced they really were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"Well, unfortunately for you Lavander is a Rocket town at the moment." he said as grunts ripped the balls away from their belts. Their Pokemon would go with the rest of the goods stolen during the mission and sent back to Celadon.

"Come on, its my daughters birth-" an engineer began before a grunt smacked his head with an elbow.

"Haven't heard that one before, take them out." he gestured at a few grunts. The defeated men were ushered out the center to be locked up with the locals.

Ellie was coming back to the front of the center, leading a trail of Green Grunts.

And it all comes together nicely.

They were a motley bunch, and when the head count was done there were about the same number of them as there were Yellow grunts. 30 in all... Yet...

"Where is your lieutenant? Where is your commander?"

Blank looks. Max sighed, getting all of Green Team at once was too good to be true after all.

"Rocket number, name and explanation about what the fuck happened here. Now people or you don't get your Pokemon back. Not that it sounds like you deserve it. Some locals claimed it was only one trainer who disarmed you! I'm interested to hear your stories."

The excuses they gave were laughable. Some detailed an Elite Four member coming in and overcoming them all at once. Others claimed that a legendary bird swooped down from the sky and stunned them all. It was bullshit, every story was different. His frown increased with every grunt.

"Next." he snapped.

No wonder these bozos were captured. They can't even lie as a team, much less fight...

* * * * * *

Wex had a little bit of satisfaction watching the Geodude his Pokemon were facing fall down, finally exhausted. The Hikers ran off, not totally losing the battle but evidently deciding to leave before they were overwhelmed.

"Shouldn't we catch them? The boss didn't want any word of Lavander reaching the outs-"

"We're not leaving this spot, that's what Max said. You can chase them yourself." said Craig, a burly, stupid idiot of a grunt. His Pokemon had been among the first to fall in the fight.

Wex sighed, watching the fat men climb away into the night. He went around, withdrawing the three Rattatas of his who had fainted in the fight. Jealously he glanced at the Meowth Scott was patting. It did better than anyone could have suspected. Even the little girl's Pokemon was better.

I'm a joke

A grunt from the Pokemon center came escorting a pretty battered looking nurse. She started healing Rocket Pokemon with her Chansey after being shoved and harassed. When she came to Wex, she looked exhausted.

"Are you okay?"

"One of your men tried to touch me..." she whispered. "A big man... Only the one with the bat stopped him."

Boris.

"It'll be okay. We're not staying here forever... We just want to-"

A voice rang out.

"Stop wasting time with that fucking wimp and come help me!"

"I've got to go." said the nurse, pressing Wex's last Pokeball into his palm. He felt retched.

The grunts went back to the center square of the town. It was eerily quiet in Lavander town, no bugs, no Pokemon cries... Just silence. Alex stood before them. They were the grunts who had no guard duty. They were the ones who would have to do whatever he said. The moon was slowly setting in the horizon as Alex inspected the loot tossed into the square.

"Shit... Shit... Oooo, nice. Did you get that out of the mart? Shiny... Shit..."

The grunts started talking amongst each other, as usual. Mayu was practically beaming.

"What are you so happy about? That we took the town? We might get captured too you know."

Rumors of a strong trainer everywhere, one who had a special relationship with Pokemon...

Caid and Sandy got the Pokemon they used in the fight all healed up. None of them were really that harmed, and the Geodude was barely scratched. Caid turned and gave Sandy a big hug, the young man's face turning a bright red.

"Heh, that rock'a yers really came in handy lil' guy. He really kicked a lotta ass."

He coughed a little and smirked a tiny bit, mainly of pride. After a small bit, Caid gave him a quick peck on the cheek and dropped him, going to go look over the members of the Green team that they met up with.

Caligula stood himself up, ever grinning, but this grin was more of a grimace right now. His bitterness and hatred to something not currently in the room could be heard.

"Rocket number 81237, at your service, [sub]Subhuman[/sub]. As events would tell, I was doing perfectly fine at MY job looting the tower, swatting away so called "Heroes", crushing them and their pokemon beneath my feet. But due to the incompetence of many of my fellow grunts, a rather powerful trainer managed to surprise me, bringing with him a few other... Pokemon I'd never seen before. Against such a force i regret to say that i was ALMOST powerless. Almost." He said, in a course, yet charismatic voice. The voice of a dictator.

Max looked at the Green grunt skeptically. He kept his uniform neat aside from a rather large slice through the center and he kept his hair tidy. However the arrogant tone and mention of odd Pokemon irritated him.

"You got scared by weird Pokemon... Are you fucking kidding me? Just admit you were beaten and beaten good." he growled. That one had some backbone but it was just another kind of excuse. No truth in any of them. He turned to the next grunt, a small, young looking girl. He stared right into her eyes, scowling. He just wanted to get going.

"Well, what's your story?"

"Rocket #96137, Addison Stanwick sir. Science branch." Addison replied to Max's questioning, tearing off a quick salute as she did so.

"I'm afraid I can offer limited perspective on the events within the tower. Myself and a small group of others were tasked with establishing a drug production lab on the outskirts of town. Whatever happened in the tower, what I can tell you for certain is that two of the chumps defeated at the tower were stupid enough to make a beeline for the lab when defeated." She paused a moment to glare very pointedly at the pair of idiots.

"Suffice it to say sir, the trainer credited with dismantling the tower operation was led right to our door by these bozos, so consequently, our local safehouse and lab is also lost to us. Whoever they are, I must unfortunately confess we were unable to overpower them." She frowned for a moment, though it faded again as she strove to keep her frustration out of the equation. "The element of surprise certainly didn't help, but I've my doubts my lab team would have been able to subdue them even without it, judging how fast my lab team was disposed of."

"That's about all the detail I can give you sir. Suffice it to say, failure occured, something I do not intend to be party to in future." She paused a moment. "If I may ask sir, are we now under your command? If so, I look forward of being use to a team clearly more versed in common sense." She shot a further glare at the two grunts that led their captor to the lab. Was careful not to smile though. She held the view that there was very little to smile about right now, even if she was anticipating the beatdown of two grunts in particular.

The Lieutenant looked pissed. He was still strong, no doubt, but she could see that he was still hurt. It didn't make a difference to those fools of trainers that thought they could stand up to him. The whimpers and yelps made her heart race. She leaned on the counter, staring. He made short work of them before turning to the Green grunts.

They were bigger idiots than she gave them credit for. If none of them would admit what happened, the truth must have been really embarrassing. The Lieutenant was getting visibly more and more frustrated. None of the stories were the same, and almost none made sense. He seemed to believe the last one who spoke, a girl about her age who reminded her of one of those science guys. She singled out 2 other grunts, claiming they had ruined the entire operation. It didn't matter. The Lieutenant believed her. Ellie turned an expectant gaze to them. She was tapping her foot expectantly, the edges of her mouth twitching as her breaths came faster.

"Ellie!" Her eyes snapped up to the Lieutenant. He was scowling. She saluted. "Show these Green fuckers what its like to fail in Team Rocket."

She broke into a grin. There was nothing better than this moment, now. They fidgeted around, one eying her nervously, anticipating the pain, the other defiant, proud, daring her to try. She quickened her pace, pulling her armed fists out of her pockets. He swung. She ducked and punched him hard in the gut, pushing him back. He lunged at her with a piece of glass from a broken table, but a quick knee to his groin incapacitated him, putting him completely in her mercy. Her eyes gleamed in pleasure. She hit him again, kicking him in the stomach, then his knee. It felt so good...

The second grunt was a small dessert, a cherry on top. He was already curled up and crying after two solid blows to his side. When he was down, she just continued to kick him a few more times, keeping her heel on his left hand to stop him from trying to shield himself.

But she had to stop. It was a standard beating for a lowly grunt. There was so little blood, and such quiet pleas... but it tasted so sweet. She took a step back, trying to stand still at attention despite quivering in excitement. She flexed her hand. A soft sting confirmed she had cut herself a little, but looking at it, it wasn't serious. Nothing that needed her immediate attention.

Scott watched as the Hikers ran off in fear, he was proud of himself and the other Rockets. They didn?t fuck up this time. Wex was complaining about letting the Hikers run off but Scott ignored the fool and praised his Meowth. The cat Pokemon was at his legs purring and rubbing up against him. Scott knelt down and patted the creature.

?You were really great out there. You?re getting stronger by the minute, you?ll be a Persian, and a force to be reckoned with, in no time.?

The Meowth purred and meowed happily, before going back into its Pokeball. When the group warrived back at the town square Alex was handing out loot and good. He threw a bunch of packs of cigarettes, on of which landed at Scott?s feet. He picked it up and realized he didn?t have a lighter. Looking around he noticed Ellie about to teach some Green Team grunts a lesson with her brass knuckles. Thinking how amusing it would be to watch Scott started over picking up a six-pack of beer from the pile of stolen booze. He entered the Pokemon Center.

?Before you start Ellie, would you mind letting me borrow a light?? Scott asked behind his first beer.

Ellie snapped him a look of disgust, probably for interrupting her good time, she tossed him the same lighter as before and went on with her business like Scott didn?t even exist. Scott watched with joy, a joy that he wasn?t the one getting beat, and the first grunt, a young man roughly the same stature as Scott. He had a nice new clean uniform; Scott admired it over his old ratty one. That first grunt tried to challenge Ellie but failed miserably, which was to be expected. The second grunt just took his punishment, crying all over himself. When Ellie was finished with her playthings Scott moved in and ordered the ?tough? grunt come with him. The grunt replied with a bravado filled ?Fuck you.? Scott starred at the grunt,

?Come with me or I?m going to give Ellie here a really good reason to work you over a second time.?

The grunt painfully got up and followed Scott into the staff room. It was an average staff lounge aside from the lockers, showers, and laundry machine and dryer used for nurses working shift work.

?Take your uniform off.? Ordered Scott

?What the fuck? No!?

Scott struck the grunt in the face knocking him to floor. Scott stripped the grunt of his Rocket Jacket and Pants. Then removing his own he gave his old uniform to the grunt and instructed him to leave. The grunt cursing and swearing left. The grunts uniform was nice and new but the grunt had been wearing it for a little while being held captive. Scott put the grunts uniform into the washing machine and hopped into the shower.

Ava stood in line with the other members of green team, watching them each give highly detailed and personalized lies, and then watching them get their shit kicked in for it.
She rolled her eyes at the situation and stood quietly in line with her head down, awaiting her turn to be barked at.

Mayu was beaming happily as her Pokemon were healed. She had participated in a takeover and so far it was going smoothly! It was a dream come true for the young rocket, and she wanted to make her happiness known. She stayed clear of Max and Alex though. Not having to impress them anymore, she wanted to live for herself and her dreams. She would become a Commander together with her Vulpix, and then she would never have to give up any more Pokemon.

Wex found himself ignored by the girl.

"Hello? Earth to kid? Did you even hear a word I said?"

* * * * *

Max stared directly at Ava, indirectly enjoying the punishment Ellie had dished out.

"Well, tell me what your lies are." he said gruffly. He just wanted to finish the whole thing.

She looked directly into Max's eyes, a blank look on her own face.

"We got our asses kicked by an old man. Just one old man. He beat us without breaking a sweat, and then all the townies threw us in their makeshift jail... That's all that happened." Ava responded with a deadpan delivery.
She wouldn't try to hide their failure, that would be a good way to get the commanders even more pissed off anyway.

After her confession Ava turned her head down again, awaiting whatever punishment came her way.

Mayu snapped out of her bliss with a look of surprise before her eyes went to Wex. Looking confused, she said. "Huh? Did you say something? I was just imagining how far I can go if we can keep taking over towns. Maybe we could take over the whole world!"

Scott stood in the shower when he heard the dryer in the employee lounge beep. He turned off the hot stream of water and stepped out. Scott dried himself off and put his clothes back on. It felt good to put on a nice and new, clean uniform. It was a little snug but it looked good. Scott walked out of the lounge into the main hall of the Pokemon centre. It looked like Max and Ellie were still interrogating Green members. It was funny, Scott felt an odd form of commrodery with the members of Yellow. He wondered how many of these Green grunts would become new yellow members. Scott started to feel protective of his team, it was very out of the ordinary. It was especially odd because Ellie and Caid were part of a second wave picked up at a Pokemon centre in Celedon. But he felt protective of them all the same. Scott returned to his small case of beer that he left near some chairs in the waiting area. Scott as down an opened another bottle, he didn't say anything just a small nod before lighting his cigarette.

Finally, an answer that sounded most like the truth.

"One old man huh? Well that's fucked up." he said simply. He stretched his arm.

I suppose they are still Rockets.

"Are you sure you never saw where they took your officers?"

"They took them first, we never knew what was happening when that old man came with his fire Pokemon."

"What was he using?" asked Max, trying to learn more.

"How the fuck am I supposed to know? It was big and it knocked us all out. Just give us our Pokemon ba-"

Wrong answer. Max went forward and gave him a bit of a beating. The guy tried to put up a bit of a fight at first but he was easily pinned down and put in his place. No ambition, no fire.

No wonder you all lost.

He finished, rising slowly and sighing.

"As much fun as it is punching you fools, you are still Rockets. And if we're going to loot this town and find your officers, we need all of you to help us. Just don't surrender to some old guy."

Max vaulted the counter again, a nurse still hiding behind it.

"Where is their Pokemon?|

"I... I..."

"Where. Is. Their. Pokemon." said Max, giving her a cold stare. She gulped and gave him a key, pointing to a drawer in the desk behind her. There they were. Black balls emblazoned with the red Rocket R. He set them on the counter in a row. When he was done, he gestured at the Green Grunts.

"Sort out your Pokemon amongst yourselves. Then come out for further orders from my Commander, Alex. Yellow Team, move!"

He gestured for his own grunts to followed and left the Pokemon center.

* * * * * * *

"You really think the boss is going to take over the world huh?"

Wex found it unlikely. No trainer could go against the government. They just had too many good trainers and there was the Elite Four...

"I don't think we're going to be taking over towns all the time. We'd get caught in no time. The boss probably has something more clever in mind."

And I'll never have a chance to repay him for my family.

Wex sighed. He was worthless and just another of Alex's tools. He watched the maniac berating Boris for some reason. A nurse was giving him a needle in his arm and seemed to be trying to tend to his broken arm but he kept moving around.

"Sir! We have a problem!"

Scott jumped off the couch and dropped his beer. He filed out of the Pokemon center with the other Yellow Grunts.

Excellent. Back in business. After getting the brief kerfuffle of various green grunts trying to find their pokemon (and quite possibly trying to get a free upgrade by snatching ones that didn't belong to them, the cynic in her added), Addison had back in her possession her long serving Gloom and the Koffing she'd recieved from the Rockets.

Further poking around in the storage drawers behind the counter also produced her well-worn leather satchel, which she was happy to note, still contained the medical kit and extract samples that were inside it before capture. Just as well too, because the last thing she wanted to do was waste more time by grilling the centre staff on its location.

Slinging the bag over her shoulder, she hurried outside to await orders. With any luck she'd now get to see what the rest of green had been up to in the tower whilst she'd been cooking up drugs.

Ellie wiped the blood off her hands with her jacket. She slowly followed outside, taking out a cigarette. Dammit, that Growlithe guy still has my lighter... Her hands were shaking. She walked up to the pile of loot in the middle of the square, tossing aside the junk. Of course the alcohol and cigs went first. Still, she had a lot of stuff from the Center.

She looked around for Scott, spying him walking out of the Pokemon Center. "Hey!" She walked over, holding her hand out. "My lighter." Her hand was trembling. She was starting to chew on the cigarette.

Ava grabbed her pokemon from the drawer. A slight smile crept across her face with the knowledge her friends and companions were back with her.

She looked around the Center a bit before heading outside to meet with the yellow commander. Turning up nothing particularly valuable in her search, Ava began walking outside.
