Give it time. They still got 5 and 6 to get through.

Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. Great great game, that could still use an overhaul in graphics and interface though. I think there's even a project to convert it to the Civ IV Engine, but as with all fan projects, it's an uncertain thing.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Its perfect as it is, but if it had prettier graphics... I dare to play with the thought that it might be even better...
Twilight princess is basically a next gen Ocarina though, and it's not as good. Ocarina was flippin fantastic for its day, but it wouldn't work because it's all been done, copied and standardised since. I still play it every year and enjoy it immensely, I can get taken back quite easily. New graphics would probably sully the nostalgia more than anything though.

The original 1080 (not the less than stellar sequel) would hugely benifit from an update, and a lot more tracks. It only had 6 in the original, but the handling was just... perfect.

Well, you're somewhat in luck then: http://blackmesasource.com/
When they actually release the damn thing is anyone's guess though.

The Ultima series rebooted by Bioware, who now own the rights to it via EA. Something to exorcise the bitter taste of how the proudest and most historically significant PC RPG series was run into the ground after Origin was purchased by EA.

Barring that, an X-Com sequel that doesn't suck.

I would love an update of Theme Hospital. It's just an awesome game, although admittedly part of its charm was its cartoony graphics.

Know what... I had hope that I'd read the OP, and it wouldn't be a thread about FFVII.

Since I just had my hopes ground to dust, Mr Fanboy OP, allow me to direct your attention here: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/98084-FF13-Producer-Explains-Why-FF7-Remake-is-Unlikely

Mechwarrior 3. No more of the wanky cartoony look for mechs, and no more 'you're the heir and your family is dead' or whatnot. I loved them for basing mech 3 around a single planetary operation, with your lance as a small part of a larger objective. and when bits of it go to shit and bits of it dont, it just made it so much more acceptable.

So yes, they need mechwarrior 3, with more varied terrain and missions, and updated graphics. I'm gonna say that the voice acting was already stellar, minus some of the smoke jaguar communications.

Has anyone else ever played this game?

Because the internet cares what I have to say.

Elasto Mania and a real remake of Rainbow Islands. Those could be fun.

...Grim Fandango...are the games I would pick for a facelift.
Are you kidding? That game still looks awesome.

I'd like Beach Life remade with amazing 3D graphics. The graphics of DoA: Beach Volleyball 2 would be good enough.

Midwinter.

First sandbox/free roaming 3D game and one of the best. First game to my knowledge that implemented sway while aiming. Great game, except for the blocky vector graphics, horrible controls and general awfulness of the first-person gameplay.

A modern treatment would be awesome. It would require some innovation, though, so maybe that's a no go. The synchronization mechanic would need some advanced treatment, I think, in order to make it truly feel like Midwinter.

Best Mechwarrior game I've ever played, and I seriously hope any future Mechwarrior games return to its style instead of coninuing down the path they have more recently. I wouldn't go as far as to ask for a remake, just to rekindle what was great about that game in a new package.

I would love to see Total Annihilation get a remake. I'm well aware of Supcom, and I own it, but I just couldn't love it the way I loved TA. That game was sheer brilliance.

Road Rash for me, same gameplay as the originals, just updated graphics and an online multiplayer :O

EDIT: For those who don't know, it was a simple 2d motorbike racing game, involving plenty of violence, a pretty good soundtrack and entertaining videos for when you won/lost.

I wouldn't like any games to be remade, as part of its essence is its flaws. I would prefer my game to be old and clunky instead of it being redone and ruined for me.

I've already gotten Chrono Trigger on the DS. I don't need anymore remakes or rereleases to make me happy inside.
