Pong needs a remake. By Bioware.
I can imagine that being the most epic RPG ever if made by them. Just replace paddles with reapers and the ball with Jedi and we have a winner.

Jet Set Radio Future. I have just found a copy and been playing, man it brings back memories, still looks and plays awesome, but it could really do with a next-gen update.

i don't think any game should be remade. They're great the way they are, changing would screw everything up. If companies want to they can just make ports of some older games like Lengend of Zelda: Orcania of Time or Megaman 2 without changing a thing so at least most of the magic is there. But even then the original game on the original console or PC would always be the best option.

The correct answer to this question is Goldeneye.
Agree on Goldeneye, but this would be tricky: it would need to be exactly like goldeneye. As in exactly. Remember that annoying thing where your couldn't look up and down and move at the same time? Remember the simplistic multiplayer levels? keep that. By changing just one aspect, you're risking getting rid of the feel of the game. A game with the same characters, levels, and weapons wouldn't necessarily be Goldeneye. It need to be exact.

Not Ocarina of Time. People like it because how seamless it made the transition to 3-D, and the story. Well WW and TP have better and more polished gameplay, and if you're buying the remake, you know the story.

Finally, I can see MGS, Morrowind, Links Awakening, X-Wing, and the first two Thief games working with remakes

I'm gonna be a stupid purist and suggest that devs should spend more time making new games, not remakes that will never be as good as the original.
A fair point but wouldnt it be cool to see you fave classic game with better graphics? And better voice acting etc?
That's the thing you see, take FF7 for instance, I love that game not just for its story, but also for its chunky graphics, tinny music and lack of voice actors. Those things are part of the games soul and I think a remake would remove some of the key things I love about it.
I agree. It's not very often something is remade and I actually end up liking it.
One of my favourite games is Chrono Trigger but I don't see how it would be improved by updating the graphics and putting voice acting in it.
It's all about the game's soul as you said. That includes all the stuff that is maybe outdated by today's standards.

I would love to see Starcraft remade, or even made period, but that would be asking too much of blizzard, who have NOTHING else to do but make more WoW expansions.
