I would go back and observe how ancient humans/neanderthals lived. It would be fascinating to know how stupid/intelligent they really were and if they had the same capacity for emotion and empathy that we do.

Not to mention the fact that we'd not have anime (or at least it wouldn't be what is is now), since it was American animations like Popeye and Mickey Mouse that inspired Osamu Tezuka to create Astroboy, so the guy you quoted wouldn't even have the word "kawaii" since it wouldn't be popular enough to be integrated into Western culture. We'd also not have Godzilla, not to mention that most of the best early anime drew its inspiration from the bombings. Take the intro to Akira for example.

Of course this is debatable and I'm not claiming to be 100% right about this.

* Back to the Future (One time line that you can go back and forward on changing everything that happens), or,
* Dragonball Z (you have your time line and by traveling in time, cause another to start from it)

Though noble and wonderful a cause that would be, my limited knowledge of how time paradox works means that it wouldn't work. Well it would, kinda... but not at the same time.

It would work, because there would be timecops to ensure the events still happened. Jean Claude Van Damme is not to be triffled with, his job is serious business. Besides, the dropping of the bombs was the quickest way to end the war.

I'd try to teach an earlier generation of our species the skills and tools that were originally developed much later. IE: Cultivating fire 10,000 years sooner, same for the bow and arrow and such. Just really simple devices that ended up having such great effect and significance.

But, from a realistice stand point, I'd probably wipe our species out as I'm carrying all sorts of bacteria that they'd have no immunity to.
