Oh and my story is that fact I'm mildly eccentric(If I build a home it MUST have a vault door like in the fallout series), and am usually considered the nerd/creep of most of my classes. Anyways I hope that you have realized that here at the escapist we shall shield you from the bastard/religious nuts of the internet.
report
This is my story from the original thread, and all I have to say is I'm glad that we helped make your life better, and remember that the escapist will crush all things idiotic(as long as it doesn't require more than a post or two=-) ).

Yes, I am very weird, as well. I won't go into all the details. Just take my word for it.
Oh, I know you're weird. You babble with me, after all.

My parents were banned from their church because of this, and they've never forgiven me for it.
I have to say that you have an awesome feature, then. Maybe it's difficult living with your eyes, but I've always thought that having red eyes would be cool. Still, I hope that your situation improves. Your parents should realize sooner or later that you are still their daughter, and that the color of your eyes is not that big a deal.
I'm not on the same level of weird that you are Neon. You just have a natural ability in being odd.

Hey, I gotta have something going for me to separate me from the herds of normal white people. If it's my psychobabble, so be it.

Here we go again. The thread that spawned so many different responses is back. This time the question and the story are different.

What is it that sets you apart from others? Tell us in detail.

For those of you who don't know my story:

I was born with naturally red eyes (Ocular Albinism) yet my right is darker than my left (which is also my worst eye). All my life I have been called a "witch", a "demon", and "the daughter of Satan" by people who saw my eyes. My parents were banned from their church because of this, and they've never forgiven me for it.

This changed (somewhat) in 2004 when I had to get corrective lenses for my left eye which was becoming worse, and contacts were my only option. I wanted to get a different colored iris to hide my left eye so my optometrist decided to make it green since green is the opposite of red on the color spectrum. So I ended up looking like Suiseiseki prior to Rozen Maiden. This was not a problem until I enter high school 3 years ago, and by then a few had seen RM. So then I became the laughing stock of my school. This continues to some degree, yet actions I have taken that were reccomended by so many of you here on the Escapist have caused some drastic changes.

The scribbling on my locker has ceased, however the occasional practical joke does rear its ugly head from time to time. My confidence in has grown, and my self-esteem is greater than it has ever been(all thanks to everyone here *kiss+hug*). My parents continue to ignore me, yet this doesn't seem to affect me as greatly as it did before.

WTB pics of your eyes, seriously no way do you have a red and green eye...that sounds...just...awesome!

I'm not the "weird person" I'm the "computer guy" everybody calls after their late night porn binges and they have 4.5k infections on their machine.

I just wanted to start another one. And technically it isn't like the old thread. Back then my life was quite miserable, but things have changed.

Good to know things are getting better for you Suiseiseki, glad to see that The Escapists' community has helped you out.

Hm, things that make me different... I stand out from the crowd 'cause I'm one of the few people in school that doesn't wear a baseball cap, black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes (I wear an olive drab military fatigue jacket/hawaiian shirt over a bright red/blue T-shirt/dress shirt and blue jeans, couple that with the fact that I'm the only guy in my school with facial hair and one of the few with white skin and I really tend to stand out when standing next to my classmates).

I also walk in circles around the two pillers in our school's foyer every break/recess (Dispite popular belief, I do it because I hate standing/sitting still for too long, NOT to summon the flying spagetti monster so it can steal everyone's marbles so I can travel to the moon [I have NO idea where that theory came from, still the best one out there, though]) I used to recieve a lot of flak for it, but not anymore (due to an incident involving the school payphone and someone's teeth). Never let anybody tell you that we Canadians will just let anyone push us around and never push back, I'm living proof that that's painfully false, granted, I only push back when I've been pushed for a very long time, but when I push back, I push back hard.

People also tend to tell me how silly/stupid/out of place I look (after all, I'm wearing a hawaiian shirt amidst a sea of emos), but I just usually respond with-

I typed up a very long post, and then the browser decided to refresh.

I'm not re-typing it: I'm Anosmic, I have no sense of smell.

That's all you really need to know anyway.

If you've ever seen that movie "the breakfast club", you know the main character/slacker guy who acts however the hell he wants and makes people realize things about themselves by pushing buttons but never really in a destructive manner? Yeah that's basically me right there.

Cool, it's just you could have just updated the old thread. You are kind of making an assumption the the internet is heavily invested in you, therefore making multiple threads about your personal dilemma. I am glad things are going well for you, I just don't see how it applies to much discussion, besides in a kind of self-centered format. You kept your head up high, and for that, I am happy, dude. Keep it up.

I'm the kid who doesn't wash, rarely gets a haircut and would rather be out bush thanks to scouts. Remember that this is gen Y I'm meant to be a part of.

Great to see that things are looking up for you by the way.

That must be depressing... not being able to smell the wonderful smells the world has to offer. Does this affect your sense of taste as well? Have you always been this way?

I would seriously go emo if I lost my sense of smell/taste. All of my favorite foods would be rendered bland and meaningless to me.

Well, my nose is tilted to the right at a very slight angle. It makes my voice a little more nasal, I can't breathe through my nose and it makes people subliminally think I'm a little ugly. I don't mind much, except for the inability to breathe through my nose.

Anyhow, I can't believe people did that to you! I wish I had red eyes (being athiest) and could use them to scare people.
