That's the Source Engine? Wow, usually I can quite easily identify that engine's little quirks, but I completely missed the mark with Titanfall. Well done respawn. Boo Microsoft.Adam Jensen said:It's a fuckin' Source game. If they can't make a Source game run at 1080p 60fps on a next-gen console then the Xbone is a really shitty console.
Correction: It mostly runs at 60 FPS.Trishbot said:![]()
At least it's running at 60 FPS, right?

For clarification, I'm joking. I don't know what 1080p means and I don't particularly care either.
I just... I just wanted to join in on the bro-ing going on...
I don't think these consoles are trying to match high-end PCs. They're trying to provide high-end gaming experiences to consumers without the hassle PCs can sometimes be and usually the associated costs. No need to link me examples of PCs built on the same budget as it costs to buy a console by the way. I've seen them. Most consumers just want to buy something and be done with it. Consoles (are supposed to, and for the most part do) offer high-end gaming experiences to consumers that don't want to build a computer and don't want to deal with video cards, drivers, operating systems etc etc etc. I have a nice rig. I am willing to build my PC and deal with the hassles. I like that part of it. The market seems to show that many consumers would rather just avoid a PC and grab a controller on a system they are already familiar with. Check out Yahtzee's video this week if you haven't. It's really good. Think it perfectly describes the situation consoles are finding themselves in right now.Chaos Marine said:Ha ha ha ha. I play all my PC games at 1920x1200. I'd guess it's because video game rendering requires more processing power, either with the CPU or GPU, than basic video.Dark Knifer said:We couldn't even make 1080p
How can cat videos on youtube achieve 1080p and a console from a gigantic corporation can't.
I'm just baffled that they somehow managed to licence the Source engine and NOT be contractually obligated to release it on Steam.Colt47 said:Like the idea for the game, but using Origin for the PC version kind of kills the deal for me. It's not like I hate all EA games, but they make it rather difficult for people who don't want multiple DRM storefronts on their PCs.
I don't think Valve could get away with that. There are many other quality engines that have no such requirements, and EA could easily make their own. EA might agree to license the Source engine, but they're not going to beg for it.ToastyMozart said:I'm just baffled that they somehow managed to licence the Source engine and NOT be contractually obligated to release it on Steam.Colt47 said:Like the idea for the game, but using Origin for the PC version kind of kills the deal for me. It's not a hardware issue. Forza 5 does 1080p at 60fps. It's more about the devs being able to achieve it, which by the sounds of things is like trying to thread a camel through the eye of a needle. I'm not overly concerned; Titanfall is still a month from release.iseko said:I wonder if it is a technical issue in the sense: the xbox one can't deliver high framrates at 1080p or if it is a weird design choice. Neither explanations sound very promising tbh.
How come people still honestly care about this crap? Oh no its at 792p whatever will we do with ourselves? All sarcasm aside its articles like this that just make me shake my head at everything. All the graphics and HD in the world don't mean jack if you don't have a good aesthetic to the game. I'm getting this game for the 360 anyway. Only game I'm even remotely interested in that is coming out on the Xbox ONE and you put it on the 360? One less console being sold. It'll be fine and look nice when it finally comes out.Dark Knifer said:We couldn't even make 1080p

You speak the truth. I'm just finally going to start building my own rig and if not that at least get an Alienware laptop so I can run League of Legends better than my Mac can (very long story there). I think me and Yahtzee are both kind of sad that the one console this generation that is a dedicated games machine is not selling all that well. Its not fair to me and its like the whole "nice guys finish last" thing. I honestly wished the Xbone had flopped instead. Nothing on the horizon of interest to me for it and Titanfall is going to be on the 360. PS4 has my Kingdom Hearts 3 so there is literally nothing there for me.VonBrewskie said:I don't think these consoles are trying to match high-end PCs.
