Like the idea for the game, but using Origin for the PC version kind of kills the deal for me. It's not like I hate all EA games, but they make it rather difficult for people who don't want multiple DRM storefronts on their PCs.

I guess that's an improvement over the standard 640p we kept seeing from 360/PS3 games.

OT: As someone who predominantly has been gaming on PC for a good few years, and the amount of times I've been referred to as a graphics whore as a result, I find this kind of thread so damn funny and ironic.

60 FPS is more important than 1080p, to me.

But I have no plans to get either of the "next gen" consoles... I've decided to go back to just being a PC Master Race kinda dewd. Oh, 792p? Gnarley, brah!

It's a fuckin' Source game. If they can't make a Source game run at 1080p 60fps on a next-gen console then the Xbone is a really shitty console.
That's the Source Engine? Wow, usually I can quite easily identify that engine's little quirks, but I completely missed the mark with Titanfall. Well done respawn. Boo Microsoft.

Ha ha ha ha. I play all my PC games at 1920x1200. Doing so for the last couple of years (with every setting maxed too). So much for this generation's consoles being a match for high-end gaming computers.

792p! Welcome to the future people. Honestly if you are playing on a tv from a couch and not two feet away from a computer monitor you won't know the difference. Its just really sad that a $500 console that is supposed to be next gen is having trouble outputting resolutions that are in nearly every home in america by this point. Its troubling for the future more than anything if games that don't even look that next gen are already struggling to run. Hopefully this is just a development issue due to working with a new API.If not microsoft is going to have a lot of unhappy customers when the divide between ps4 and xbox one gets bigger.

Well, at least the rather anemic industry standard set by the next-gen consoles will carry on the possibility of not needing to upgrade my PC for the better part of a decade. I built my PC back in 2009 (I did pay about $850) and really don't feel the need to swap out any component as new releases still seems to run crisply at 1920x1080 w/ max to very high settings. Now is the time to jump into PC gaming if you are considering it, as the price to performance ratio for parts will really keep initial as well as long-term costs down to a minimum.

Not even 1080p? Pfffffft. Lame. Get it together, Xbox. Geez.

For clarification, I'm joking. I don't know what 1080p means and I don't particularly care either.

I just... I just wanted to join in on the bro-ing going on...
U wot m8?

Naw just kidding too. I'm actually still feeling the burn from Battlefield 4 so I decided not to buy this one. It's a sad decision for me too. I love giant robots! Oh well.

I don't think these consoles are trying to match high-end PCs. They're trying to provide high-end gaming experiences to consumers without the hassle PCs can sometimes be and usually the associated costs. No need to link me examples of PCs built on the same budget as it costs to buy a console by the way. I've seen them. Most consumers just want to buy something and be done with it. Consoles (are supposed to, and for the most part do) offer high-end gaming experiences to consumers that don't want to build a computer and don't want to deal with video cards, drivers, operating systems etc etc etc. I have a nice rig. I am willing to build my PC and deal with the hassles. I like that part of it. The market seems to show that many consumers would rather just avoid a PC and grab a controller on a system they are already familiar with. Check out Yahtzee's video this week if you haven't. It's really good. Think it perfectly describes the situation consoles are finding themselves in right now.

We couldn't even make 1080p

How can cat videos on youtube achieve 1080p and a console from a gigantic corporation can't.
I'd guess it's because video game rendering requires more processing power, either with the CPU or GPU, than basic video.

I'm just baffled that they somehow managed to licence the Source engine and NOT be contractually obligated to release it on Steam.

I don't think Valve could get away with that. There are many other quality engines that have no such requirements, and EA could easily make their own. EA might agree to license the Source engine, but they're not going to beg for it.

I wonder if it is a technical issue in the sense: the xbox one can't deliver high framrates at 1080p or if it is a weird design choice. Neither explanations sound very promising tbh.
It's not a hardware issue. Forza 5 does 1080p at 60fps. It's more about the devs being able to achieve it, which by the sounds of things is like trying to thread a camel through the eye of a needle. I'm not overly concerned; Titanfall is still a month from release.

How come people still honestly care about this crap? Oh no its at 792p whatever will we do with ourselves? All sarcasm aside its articles like this that just make me shake my head at everything. All the graphics and HD in the world don't mean jack if you don't have a good aesthetic to the game. I'm getting this game for the 360 anyway. Only game I'm even remotely interested in that is coming out on the Xbox ONE and you put it on the 360? One less console being sold. It'll be fine and look nice when it finally comes out.

Pros: Awesome concept, seems like it plays smoothly, good resolution/fps.
Cons: Xbone exclusive.
I'm having a moral dilemma here.

You speak the truth. I'm just finally going to start building my own rig and if not that at least get an Alienware laptop so I can run League of Legends better than my Mac can (very long story there). I think me and Yahtzee are both kind of sad that the one console this generation that is a dedicated games machine is not selling all that well. Its not fair to me and its like the whole "nice guys finish last" thing. I honestly wished the Xbone had flopped instead. Nothing on the horizon of interest to me for it and Titanfall is going to be on the 360. PS4 has my Kingdom Hearts 3 so there is literally nothing there for me.

792p? No monitor, or TV will support that resolution nativly. At 792p it will look bad on every LCD monitor ever made. It should have been trimmed down to 720p or letter boxed in 1080p. Otherwise it will just be wrong.

Don't care. So long as the game is fun the level of care I could give for p or fps is terribly low.
