What killed my faith in people was years of being bullied and finally my ex when she broke up with me. At that point, I gave up and just became a cynic and hater of people pretty much.
Your lucky you had a belief in humanity form the beginning.
Being born in 1993 during the Socialist conquered Sweden (I'm a anti socialistic liberal) so all of my faith has dripping off from birth... damn you Göran Persson
I was born 1986.
My experiance of the Socialist were that nothing really happened at all in society.
While with our current ones the Moderates (or the ALLIANCE as they like to call themselves) are making changes - FOR THE WORSE.

Let's just hope that say the Pirates win or something.
I'm an Anarchist myself to a certain extent and more or less anti-liberal because they want to legalize
drugs while I want to ban drugs from the face of the Earth.

The only way I think humanity could possible advance would be through a Humanistic Dictatorship that promotes human prosperity through medical and technological research and advances such as space colonies, cloning and equality.
well i like democracy but if the world want to advance together democracy is not the way to go...
i agree with you about the "Moderaterna" they rule the Alliance alone :( and i don't want to legalize drugs... drugs are bad mmkay. Even if I'm a proud Liberal!

This, people like this are probably some of the most illogical people i have ever met. ok so you saw some nasty flavored floss probably put out by some tiny bullshit company and that made you lose your faith in humanity? oh come one that is retarded and even you know that. The advances and good things that have been created by humanity are too numerous to even begin to count.
and to people who cite religion as their reason are even less intelligent, sure it results in annoying people canvassing peoples neighborhoods as well as the occasional blight of people like the westboro baptist church but for the most part people of faith are relatively level headed as well as having a social code to live by where you are nice to people and all that good stuff. you just cite a few wackos and leave it at that, whereas i could say athiests and agnostics and cite people like you for making wild accusations, but i wont because i know that most athiests and agnostics are probably very agreeable people.

Think a little and use that logic you claim to have
Hey! Now wait a sec, when did I claim to be logical? By all standards I know I'm not, I'm borderline insane and I know it, this was simply the killer for the time being, my faith has been killed and restored multiple times before, it's been beaten and bloodied enough that it doesn't take a whole lot to put it back six-feet under anymore. I really would like to know when I said I was logical, and wtf I was on at that point...

I wish I lived in America so I was actually close enough to punch these twats in the shins.
These tools actually visited my school (Fairfax High School) to demonstrate just off of the school property because apparently we are a breeding ground for fags and other nonsense like that. my parents actually stopped me from going to school because i knew i would end up beating the shit out of some of them, not that i am gay myself but people like that are douche bags
... didn't know cigarettes needed breeding grounds...
Oh please, of course then need to breed. Where else do you think these came from?

[small]No, thats not photoshopped, it really is a type of meat based food here in England[/small]

hahaha nice call but i am from America. i just used that word because it is the type of derogatory slander that the church used
I'm not sure they never know what it means, cus then seem to call everyone it, even women. I think they just heard the word and liked it.

i couldnt see a way to obtain faith in humanity it only takes a stones throw from your front door to find a reason that we arent going to doom ourselves

Yet alone turn on the TV without an overly exagerated Headline about some small insignificant problem in view of the others that we should be concerned with

sorta like this headline you havent really quit cos you hadnt been a part of sumthing youve given up

The stupidity of the general populous.

I gave the girl at the cash register a $5 and a quarter. the thing I was buying was $4 and 25 cents, I wanted a dollar back. She asked me why I was giving her 25 cents. I told her. She looked at me like I wasn't making any sense. I then tried to explain it to her, but by the 3rd time I realized there were 2 people behind me in line, so I just told her to hit the buttons and let the machine tell her what to do.

kills me inside.

anyway, but I have a theory about this. I think the general populous has always been extremely retarded. It's just this century it's more noticeable thanks to the internet, television, all those people who take wacky statistics, and the fact that 75% of people are all basically retarded, it's just now that there's billions of people, it's slightly more noticeable.

People dumb enough to actually believe religions (although only the ones with 'higher powers') are the only way to 'salvation'. When you die, you either rot in a hole or get incinerated and put in a jar (or eaten if that is your thing). There isn't someone hiding in the clouds making sure you like them before letting you in to their cloudy club house.

I also hate how religion is somehow given a higher standing than science and medicine, if 'god' says you can't use aborted foetuses for science then you better not. It doesn't matter if you can cure diseases and improve the lives of people, 'god' says no! Andrew Ryan had the right idea, all scientists and velociraptors to the bottom of the sea to do some proper unhindered science.

Another thing is when people in general keep chanting how people are allowed to have their own beliefs, but if your belief isn't what they agree with then you are wrong and aren't allowed to have that belief. So the idiots who want everyone to do their own thing are acting directly against what they are saying.

We can only hope global warming kills them off.
actually stopping the fetuses and stuff like that is based on democracy, the religious people are just more numerous, and thus have more sway. they use that to get what they want mostly. theres nothing in christianity at least that say treat people who are different differently. just that they will not get into heaven if blabbity blah blah. now some people use that as an excuse to go recruiting for team christianity, and those people are insane. do not judge religion based off of the actions of that specific type of religious person.

also man made global warming does not exist. all natural. that is like saying the changing of the seasons from winter to summer is global warming. and conversely how did the ice ages stop? unless you have proof of those caveman factories puffing out greenhouse gasses. i have done countless research on this and it is just one big scare tactic. not that going green is not good but it should not be done by inventing a cause to scare people into compliance.

umm i think if everyone spent there time trying to remove the problems you just mentioned they would be doing it for a PURPOSE(fixing the world) and not just sitting around doing nothing till they die.

A life with purpose purely means to have goals and not just wing it till you get to the end and winging it can often be more of an adventure than aiming for the goals society tells you to Good Job House family etc

i am just saying that it is insane to even put that as a faith killer because you know in the back of your mind that there are probably millions of worse products, but also that comparing the bacon floss to something like a cure for cancer (hopefully soon) than it seems really petty for something so small to make you rethink your existence as a human.

News. That fact that there are people who trust Jon Stewart more than Fox or NBC scares the hell out of me. Not that I don't like Jon Stewart, but that he is less biased than the ACTUAL NEWS makes me want to just go on a killin' spree. Oh and the Baconaise did it for me too.

'Global warming' in the 'oh crap, we're doomed' sense is artificial in that the rate of global temperature change is considerably higher now that is was during any previous ice ages and started shortly after the industrial revolution. If you did research on it I'm guessing you had a co-author to do all of the typing. Either that or it was published in 'Doesn't have a clue weekly'. Yes it is used as a scare tactic, but everything 'bad' that has ever happened has been used as a scare tactic. Nuclear weapons. Nuclear power. Terrorism. Just because politicians spin things their own way doesn't mean the science is wrong.

circular logic.

"we (humanity) live to make sure we can keep living"

What i was trying to say is, that theres a need for other things than just making maintaining easier.
In most cases, people get a job, so they've got money for food and a house so they have shelter, i know some people love their job, and would keep it if they won a billion in the lottery, but in most cases it's just for maintaining a life. If tehre was no suck "luxury" things as bacon-floss, music, movies, tv's, video-games, sports, nice cars, crack and hookers, beer etc. then people would just work to maintain themselves, and wouldn't need more money than it took, to have a small apaprtment for shelter, and enough food to survive.
It doesn't have to be what society dictates, you can live for whatever you want to live for, be it gaming, stoning or donkey-porn, but living just for teh sake of living sound really booring.

Hmmmmm... I wonder if I can even count all the reasons I have lost faith in humaity? Lets try shall we; Reality T.V. the internet, my own sexual preferences, fundamentalists, the radio, Micheal Bays film carreer, any of these videos [spoiler/]http://www.youtube.com/user/AndreaGersh [/spoiler], most religions, The popularity of Twilight and I think that is plenty of examples. Of course that's not mentioining the popular consent against video games/comis/anything I actually like.

The younger generation. Despite being the same age as a lot of the offenders, I hate half of the whiny little asshats on Live, and the internet. They're all precise copy-pastes of eachother. I also hate, oddly enough, how Modern Warfare and Halo have made gaming ridiculously mainstream. Before, we could enjoy gaming with people who actually cared about the genre, but now it's all people to whom gaming is a passing interest.
