well technically china kinda already is a superpower from economic and population stand points. That IF also refered to the policing the world though.Purple Dragon said:what IF more like WHEN China becomes a superpowerrayen020 said:america will figure all this out eventually. The reason it doesn't happen now is because there is always some looming problem to tackle first. presidents get maybe one domestic issue resolved per administration, and they will run their campaign on it, if it doesn't have enough support it won't happen. Same sex marriage, abortion, marijuana legality, these things don't have enough support one way or the other to swing a vote. until they do you won't see them get resolved.
IF china becomes a superpower and takes on a bigger role in policing the world america might find itself forced to look at domestic issues harder and then we might see some real progress.
but if you think about it countries do generally become less crazed when they no longer rule the world, just look at England we used to Empire crazed now we stagnate quietly and aren't too polarised
Don't worry, I was being satirical. It doesn't matter which beliefs a political viewpoint stem from, whether Religious or otherwise, all that matters is that said beliefs have the right to be put forward in political discussion.believer258 said:Is that satirical, or are you being honest? Because while people have done plenty of bad things in the name of religion, none of the major world religions have truly "bad" teachings. Sure, the Bible says that homosexuality is a sin, but it also says everyone's a sinner, and that Jesus sacrificed himself on the cross so that everyone could be forgiven.
Note that I am not proclaiming beliefs here, I'm making a point. Make sure you separate the religion from its followers. There are plenty of intelligent Christians, Buddhists, Muslims, and people from other religions. There are also plenty of dumb ones. Same goes for atheists and agnostics.
