Videogames are just the next crutch for parents to blame all of their problems on, when they die off and gamers grow up there will be some sort of new thing... like virtual reality to blame how kids act. It's an ongoing cycle, all people are doing by blaming video games is being an idiot AND completely forgeting EVERYTHING about teenagers. We don't WANT to live by your rules as we feel that's like imprisonment in a way.
So you Jack Thompson clone, either learn or leave. It's a fairly simple choice.
Also just reffering to you mentioning that parents have to entertain their 7-17 year old, that's just idiotic. Surely when you were a kid/teen your parents didn't spend their every waking moment trying to amuse you? No you found a form of entertainment, well GUESS WHAT, that is what video games are. A Form of entertainment.
The only lunatics of gaming, are the one who cannot disconnect gaming from real life. THAT is the problem, not the violence, not the sex (They've alreayd seen all of this, all shielding from video games are doing is annoying the children. Like saying, don't say Dam, it'll drive you into a rude child, well they have already heard it so you cannot "Shield" them any more) it's people who cannot disconnect.
Grow the fuck up, "Worried Parents" Shielding does exponentially more harm then it does good. It's fighting a up hill battle, with hail the size of minivans raining down. Not going to happen.

Anyone else here feel that Bob is being needlessly jerky about this? To disagree, that is one thing. But to cop the irrationally obtuse attitude is unnecessary. Let's keep this civil. You'd think close to 20K posts would teach you that much at least.

You're supposed to do something that provokes unique discussion or input, otherwise you might as well not make a thread. Honestly, when you made this post on a gaming site, what did you expect? Even in your (I'm assuming) ideal scenario, pretty much all the posts on this thread would just be something like "YEAH! I AGREE!" and really, how interesting is that? I'm not saying you shouldn't give your opinion, but if that's all you want to do, do it in response to other threads, because really, noone cares, and that way you don't make yourself the center of attention whilst you present a point that noone cares about or has heard a million times over.
