Britan is like our older brother who is always hanging out with us but doesn't realize "it's not cool to hang out with your kid brother"

At least from a military standpoint.
A kid brother that has Hyperpituitarism, no less.

I view Brits as the more, well, civilized part of us in terms of culture (more theater, comedy is dry/requires smarts, actually respecting foreigners), politics (N.H.S., which we are sorely missing) and overall people (drive by arguments (get the reference?), helping people in need, gay rights, etc.)

Although you guys are not perfect (parliamentary fights, the whole "nobility" concept, no guns) you actually think about what to do and want everyone to be better off instead of pursuing your own personal interests which might not be better in the long run.

I even have a friend from Lincoln:

In summary:
You guys rock

I had to look that up before I could get that joke. Well stated.

I'll put all sarcasm aside and answer seriously. I think Britain is a very valuable ally for America to have. And if anything was ever done to harm the relationship between the two countries, that would have disastrous consequences, in my opinion.

I'm American, know a few british people, and have a very positive view of Britain. The military over there is great. I even said yesterday "Sometimes I think we should've stayed a colony".
I was thinking that a lot after the 2000 "election."

I love the UK but I don't know too much about the politics; one of the reasons I like to watch the news when I'm in the UK. American news is completely worthless, unless you're looking for advertising.

Agreed. You know the news media has taken a turn for the worst when the economy hits the crapper and bailouts are being issued like candy on halloween yet all that is reported is "David Letterman insults Sarah Palin's daughter". Wow. I guess David Letterman is now public enemy #1.

Just hope you feel the same with us, for mom's sake.
That leaves me wondering which nation would be our mother- The Roman Empire??
Actualy, both governments were birthed under God. So it could very well be The Roman Empire since they're the ones who spread Christianity across the known land (back then.) Though, with thier influence in mind, you could also claim the Roman Empire is the mother to all modern nations.
do you mean that america was birthed under god?
The government, yes.
well actually that's innacurate. Most of the founding fathers were athiest in fact jefferson wrote his own version of the bible that took out all the mircales and godly aspects and just left the good values. That's why there's (well should be) a seperation of church and government in america that and because they knew what kind of problems it can incur. That's why the put it into the amendments that you're free to believe what you wish in america so that no one could be prosocuted for there beliefs.

EDIT:just so you know i'm not trying to start a flame war or be a dick or anything.

I'd say we reserve the right of title of "annoying hanger on" for the french.

I guess Britain's fine, not really much to say there.
