To everyone who's played Fallout 3...

...can you please tell me if the experience in Fallout 3 comes closer to the original Fallout games or to Oblivion?

I don't wanna start another "Oblivion is shit" or "Fallout 1 is better than Fallout 3" debate.

I just wanna know what kind of game this is.
I don't wanna know about the graphics or combat, those seem pretty obvious to me.
But tell me about the basic roleplaying elements, quests, the plot, the characters and general mood of the game (no spoilers!).

The quests have little to no indication, Unclear objectives, Roleplaying is much more suckier with everything must having a useful effect. Alot of the fun elements such as the bad luck and stuff were taken away and such..Overall think of oblivion with a fallout face and slightly buggy quests.

Fucking can't take my loot from a group of gang members without losing karma.

Okay... I was a little put off when someone told me half of the voice actors were the same as the people who did the voices for Oblivion.
But fire beathing ants?

I'd have to say it's a little TOO much oblivion, mainly because I didn't care for oblivion.

To anyone that's played it, is there any way to STOP a fight? In oblivion, you could guard and talk to the people hitting you to stop them fighting you (if they were so inclined)

this feature seems to have been removed, but it may have just been moved. It's quite annoying to have to load every time I accidentally hit someone or accidentally get caught picking a lock or hacking into a system

and I'm FAIRLY certain that I was accosted on the street by a mercenary team lead by Vegeta from DBZ (his voice at least)
