To the pissed off DMC fans...

Alright, I knoew you are all so very pissed off about Dante's new look and the game, and everything. But the game hasn't come out yet, so please don't knock it.

And don't yell at me for not being a fan, because I'm a major DMC fanatic: I have all the books, beaten DMD mode on all games but 4, and watch the anime all the time. I spent many days looking for DMC5 info, and at first, I was very saddened and upset about the change, but looking at it now, it's not so bad.

It may be because I am into the whole punk look, or because I was beginning to lose a little love for Dante when they kicked him out of the spotlight in four and made him seem like a mentor and random add-in.

I like this new, hard ass, punky Dante. And until I have played the game I refuse to ***** and whine and beg for the old Dante back, because I have seen people do this only to look like idiots when they enjoy the game. I am only saying that this game looks cool, and at least they kept Dante's bad assedness. They could have made him a pussy that didn't know how to use a bread knife, let alone a morphing sword.

Plus, change wasn't so bad: They obviously ran out of ideas. They weren't even taking thigns from Dante's Inferno (the 700 year old book, not the game) anymore. They were pulling shit out of their asses now. So this new thing may be just what Devil May Cry needed.

EDIT: I added the Dante's Inferno thing, because it was the basis for many of the characters and ideas for the original Devil May Cry games.

Let Capcom do what they want. If the game fails it's their own faults. So I shall say this prematurely: R.I.P DMC, Your style and action will be missed. (Cutscenes not so much)

Weren't people's complaints just about his appearance? Bringing in the actual game has no bearing upon discussions of his new appearance.
What I read was that they thought that he looked overly westernized, and lost some of his signature features.

If someone changes something it suck, if nothing is changed it sucks, if they re-release a game everyone has wanted some fans will still whine and say it sucks.

So just ignore them, and if you enjoy the game then that's all that matters.

That's about all i got from the trailer on youtube. I'm too lazy to look it up now, but if you watch it it's the one that demonstrates some mad QTE scenes and that word is all Dante comes out with. As i said in a similar thread about the new DMC game, it's just like Indiana Jones being raped by Lucas and Spielberg all over again in that South Park episode.

Edit: I also think people are pissed off that DMC5 is recieving the 'western touch' which always has the presumption of bastardisation rather than just Dante's questionable redesign.

i like the look too. he's suppose to be 17. and he doesn't have his powers yet so no white hair

Well, this is a prequel/reboot. If it were a sequel and they did this change, I would be a bit upset about it too. That's why most were upset about Cole's look; Because it was a sequel set a year or so after and he looked like a whole new character entirely.

Admittedly, as does Dante, but like I said, this is a prequel/reboot. Not that big a deal to me.

And I think he looks freaking awesome.

It's like buying Sonic and they forced you to play the game first as Shadow or Big the Cat, you don't like those characters so why would you play those.

And I'm not angry with any of them, because I felt exactly the same when I first saw the look and appearance. I only mean to say that they shouldn't refuse the game just because of an appearance change.

They have only made one game though, so no one knows how shit or good the game will be. It's still to be decided. Plus; I kind of liked Heavenly Sword. Mostly for the storyline, since every hack-and-slash game is pretty similar.

I understand, I do. Admittedly, I read it a bit too quickly, but I get where you are coming from. It's like how I felt for DMC4. Since Nero took a while to grow on me, but bugged me by taking the hero's spotlight.

This is supposedly Dante as a Kid.
Just as his powers were starting to awaken.
So it doesn't bother me that much.

But i agree, fans shouldn't refuse to play a game just because of style/appearance change.

I'm not tripping about the game itself. I'm tripping over the fact that he looks like fucking Adam Lambert with no makeup.

If the game itself still plays like a DMC game should (I don't even know what that means o__O'), while I may not accept the "new" Dante as the one I know and love, I'll probably still play the game and take it for what it is: a balls out action game with a seemingly insane and suicidal undead demon child thing smacking around other various undead demon child things.
