I hope you're being sarcastic, because almost every book which that "one guy" [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_Asimov] wrote was about how those laws wouldn't work, and would inevitably end up with robots killing us all / trying to imprison us forever.Galaxy Roll said:They better make sure to add in the AI laws [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Laws_of_Robotics] that were thought up by the one guy.
Are you sure you're not confusing that with the completely ignore-the-source-material film with Will Smith in it?lunncal said:I hope you're being sarcastic, because almost every book which that "one guy" [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_Asimov] wrote was about how those laws wouldn't work, and would inevitably end up with robots killing us all / trying to imprison us forever.Galaxy Roll said:They better make sure to add in the AI laws [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Laws_of_Robotics] that were thought up by the one guy.
Yes, I am sure. Many of his books (or at least many of the ones about robots, I believe he wrote lots of books) were about how those laws could be interpreted badly by robots, although it wasn't always by killing everyone, admittedly.Olrod said:Are you sure you're not confusing that with the completely ignore-the-source-material film with Will Smith in it?lunncal said:I hope you're being sarcastic, because almost every book which that "one guy" [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_Asimov] wrote was about how those laws wouldn't work, and would inevitably end up with robots killing us all / trying to imprison us forever.Galaxy Roll said:They better make sure to add in the AI laws [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Laws_of_Robotics] that were thought up by the one guy.
