Sam had fallen into a deep sleep where he lay, not bothering to even check if Mike had returned with the beverages.

--

Upon dawn he was still very much asleep but woke up shortly after everyone else. Or so he thought.
He wasn't paying much attention to the room he was in, he was more interested in what was going on outside it.

Not knowing everything that has transpired today bugs me ... but knowing I'm in a friendly zone means there's nothing serious I need to know

Sam shrugged and walked out of the warehouse.
The sun shone into his eyes, stingin them like wasps. He quickly shuttered and covered his eyes before continuing his walk slowly and steadily toward the firing range.

What is that?
He thought to himself as he heard a strange yet familiar noise.

"Yeah, heavy price to do something fun and important at the same time, sir," Black mentioned to Fisher. "I don't really know what I'd be doing if I hadn't enlisted, though." He contemplated anything else he might be good at while eating his breakfast.

She lost focus eventually, stopped her katas and picked up the phone (it had managed to bounce almost to the edge and would have probably fallen off any moment).

"What?"

Konrad went right into a tantrum on the other end, all of it in German. She figured he wouldn't have been able to come up with enough insulting vocabulary otherwise. She raised an eyebrow and jerked her head away from the phone. He was loud.

"That's awfully nice of you, Konrad." She replied in German when he stopped to take a breath. Then she continued in English. "Now move on and stop calling me."

He started into another fit at her, but she killed the conversation. The phone went back on the table and she to her katas. She picked the most aggressive moves she could recall, and vented some of the steam into the air. Not the best sparring partner imaginable, but it would do.

Cheryl didn't bother picking up again.

Sam stumbled upon Cheryl talking to someone on the phone.
After their brief conversation that seemed to be one-sided, Cheryl kept her combat training on-going like nothing had happened.

Regular basis I take it then?... ex?

Sam shrugged again. The morning on his face was apparent and the sun still annoyed him slightly.
"Mornin..."
He said with a smile just as she landed a hit and he walked up to the table.
Sam looked at the phone very briefly to try and see the calling number and if he could see any name listed. He wanted leverage over this girl if something went down badly.

He might see a German phone number

Cheryl fell out of her training stance and regarded Stenrow with a slight smile. She hated it when one of the Cells spotted her training. Which, granted, wasn't as much training as it was her staying in shape, but still. She felt awfully aware of the large skill gap between her and them.

"Morning, Agent."

She stepped closer to the table and picked up her glass of water--and let out a somewhat annoyed grunt as the phone just wouldn't stop buzzing.

"Sorry," she murmured and switched it off before returning it to her jeans pocket. She had at her water and studied the man briefly over the rim of the glass.

"You're not looking too awake yet." Her smile passed for sincere now.

Damien stretched his arms out wide as he checked out the gear. He whistled. "Damn... Last Chance body armor? What kind of budget are we on to get stuff like this? If I had this last time, I would never have gotten this scar!" He laughed. Walking outside, He saw Cheryl's phone ringing like a madman shouting his delusions on the last day, just before seeing her put it in her pocket. Damien raised an eyebrow. "Well, miss popular, aren't we? Want to know a good way to get rid of that guy?"

"I see that this is the place to be" said Drake as he walked outside into the range to see a sizeable portion of the 'crew' outside, the attention mostly focused on Cheryl.

'No surprise there, all this testosterone, few little outlets, two women'

Ignoring the scene that closely resembled some high school drama (further cementing his theory that this was actually some kind of weird hell where he had to repeat his teen years under the pitiful command of schizophrenic idiots), withdrew his P99 and began to pop off some muted shots down the range.

He was a close range, CQC, 'Fight & Sneak' kinda guy and his shot-grouping showed it, the shots, while hitting within atleast an inche from their marks (the head, neck and chest), didn't have the grouping he'd desire but in a fire fight it would do.

'I can still kick everyone else's asses in hand-to-hand though, probably with one hand tied behind my back, me being on fire and a dog set on me'

He ejected and replaced his clip in a mere fraction of a second, before unloading it, in quick sucsession, downrange again.

'Doesn't hurt to be skilled in multiple fields'

He saw most of the People go outside. "Black, Go wake anyone else up, then tell the others that we are moving out tomorrow and briefing will be tonight." Fisher said

Sam chuckled at Cheryl's comment as he turned around.
"Yeah, I better get cleaned up and ready. I just wanted to make sure everything was up to beat, ya' know?"

And to know where everyone was
Now that he had found out all he wanted, he retired to the warehouse for a steaming shower and hopefully some yummy breakfast.

Cheryl quirked a brow at Damien, then shrugged. She'd come out here for privacy, not a spectacle. And now that the firing range was filling up, the field runner decided to leave. She nodded briefly towards Drake while he was putting rounds downrange, and went back inside, duffel bag slung over her shoulder.

At the barracks she climbed onto her bunk, retrieved her gun and jacket, and then moved on to the commons. She laid her equipment out on a table, along with her phone, and eyed it all for a moment. Then she opened the phone cover, removed the SIM card, and slid it into her back pocket.
Having made away with the inconvenience, Cheryl turned to fitting the new suppressor on her 1911.

Will have to give that one a test round later.. later, when the range clears out.

She weighted the gun briefly, removed the suppressor again and went about gun maintenance. Which was better than doing nothing.

"No, Ma'am."

Cheryl looked up while she was reassembling the weapon.

"None at all. When are we being deployed then? And care to share where it's going?" She didn't bother changing the topic gracefully, but decided to have it straight forward.

Setting his plate in the sink, Black walked back into the barracks and took a deep breath.

"Get y'all's asses up!" he began with a booming voice. "Our guns are in, so check yo shit! This ain't Disneyland, we got shit to do and people to kill!" Not paying attention to reactions, he walked back into the commons and began unpacking his bags, starting with his M82A1 .50-caliber sniper rifle. "How you doin, girl? We gonna have some fun later, you like that? Yeah, you like that."

Yemen. Quaint.

Warm. Very warm. Hot, in terms of conflict potential, if just south was Grims way of saying by the border. Interesting place nevertheless, even though field running for the agents would be... complicated.

Cheryl crunched her face into a grimace. Sometimes she wished she'd been born a man. Then again, depending on where exactly they'd be conducting their little field trip, things could go down easier than in other parts of the Middle East. She'd have to wait and see. And adapt, if necessary.

"Sounds good, Ma'am. Can't wait."

She wiped her hands on her jeans.

"How you doin, girl? We gonna have some fun later, you like that? Yeah, you like that." Black was saying, living up to the entertaining stereotype of a man and his weapon. The runner tossed him a quick smile.

"Sir, I thought you're married? You sound mightily in love right there."

"'ey," Black began to mockingly scold, "when you had a rifle meant to kill from a mile away, save your life from someone three yards away, you'd fall in love, too." He smiled as he leaned back and attached the 6-power ACOG to the rifle. "He didn't even know I was there, but I know I got lucky. Dumbass snapped a twig, classic movie style, so I had to roll over and shoot quick. Ruined the mission, but hell, I got to walk away. Wasn't much left of 'em, either." Grabbing a magazine, he began to load the large bullets into it.

"Course by 'walk away,' I mean 'run my ass for a couple days.' Generals ain't too happy when they think you almost blew 'em to pieces."

"In that case, better take very good care of your lady there."

Cheryl watched him with mild interest, though her eyes kept wandering the commons and darting from one occupant to the next.

Tomorrow then. Just one more day of waiting.

"You bet I will, ma'am," Black replied. "I ain't the brightest crayon and I know it, but I keep these ladies clean and put bullets on target." After he was satisfied with the M82, he set it down and pulled out his other rifle. "Hell yeah, got the stock system I wanted, too." To the untrained eye, his M21 looked like a flat-top M16.
