That's a bit of a bullsh*t list if you ask me...
I won't come up with ten but a top few would be...
1) overpopulation - simple, terrifying.
2) environmental degradation - same as 1)
3) the internet - ... same as 1 and 2... far too influential and regarded.
4) culture gap (i.e. backwards nations) - less simple, USA counts as one
5) ageing institutions - similar to culture gap, movements like democracy are becomming obsolete and ineffective
6) cultural degradation - like 4), some nations have peaked and are going back down towards inequality and extremism... see: USA, Australia, similar
I like your list better than Patty's.
I'm still a bit under a fluffy pink culture shock from visiting Pattyland and gaining insight into
three of this world's main issues:
1) Selective perception with limited knowledge and understanding,
2) individuals with a computer, some internet, two cats and a comfy chair deciding to have understood human nature so well they think they can identify and solve all mankinds issues, even though the issues they address are a wee bit more complicated and demand some more thought on causality and
3) Top-ten lists
It's ludicrous. I wonder what was to be found at http://hubpages.com/hub/Our-Universe--A-Black-Hole - it must have been even more amazingly silly than Patty's list.
Ah, humans. We really are difficult to love at times, aren't we.
NO MORE WARS! NO MORE VIOLENCE! NO MORE KILLINGS - doesn't necessarily eradicate the issue of immigration, quite on the contrary. Fluffy pink wishful thinking is absolutely okay, but intermingled with tidbits of a political nature, they're toxic and hard to swallow.
A people gets the king it deserves, and we've lately fallen on hard times with our politicians, presidents and representatives. Still, it is our duty as animals with big brains to at least try and understand what's going on. Everything else is but throwing up words and a diarrhea of twinkle twinkle little stars.
