This isn't in any particular order, nor is it the most original list in the thread by a long chalk:

1. Deus Ex
2. Baldur's Gate 2
3. Front Mission 3
4. Suikoden 2
5. Parasite Eve 2

I did consider Mass Effect for giving me that sense of exploring alien worlds, and Space Rangers 2, which is awesome but has a critical difficulty level flaw.

Come back, space game genre, you're too few and far between these days.
