I'll only do one per franchise.
1. Skyrim -Words cannot express how much I love this game.
2. Mass Effect 3 -IMO it's the most emotional game of the series and the gameplay was much better. I cried multiple times.
3. Windwaker -I am one of the few people who actually liked all of the sailing in this game.
4. Fallout 3 -Never has a game made me feel as badass as in this game.
5. Bastion -Best soundtrack EVER!
6. Shining Force -Loved all of the unique characters and enemies.
7. Borderlands -Incredibly addictive.
8. Minecraft -The most terrifying game I've ever played.
9. 007 Nightfire -Skyrail is my favorite multiplayer map of all time.
10. ACII -Ezio is definitely one of my favorite characters ever.

I agree - the point is I myself have made this thread a bunch of times - and defended it in the same way you just did - but that people often gave me some sarcastic crap for my trouble.

Some people are just like that I suppose
It's all pretty tame though compared to /v/

Ok, Here goes. in no particular order...

Metal Gear Solid (The Twin Snakes): The GC version was the best, all of the goodness of MGS but well upgraded graphics and gameplay.

Chrono Cross: Yeah, Chrono Trigger was great, but I really enjoyed Chrono Cross just a little more.

Perfect Dark (N64): Still the best FPS ever. Still holds up today as far as I'm concerned.

Masters of Orion II: Again, still holds up today. A real toss up between this, Starcraft, and C&C RA 2... but MoO holds up just a little better over time.

Silent Hill 2: Survival horror hasn't been quite as good since. Props to Amnesia and Eternal Darkness for getting reallllly close (just not quite there story wise though.)


Ok, let's throw out Perfect Dark though, no shooter should be on my top 5. I'd add Zelda OoT in it's place. Oh and Shadows of the Colossus... it kind of transcends just a game status or I'd be there as well, probably in place of MoO.

All 3 Deus Ex games, because they're all the same and yet totally different. Yeah yeah, you don't like Invisible War, that opinion is so hack. The first one for sheer complexity, the second for its tight, focused narrative and gameplay, and the third for its thick-as-butter atmosphere.

Maybe tomorrow my answers would be different. Maybe if I played IW again my opinion would seriously change.
