I was just talking about my top 5 comedies since 2000. It was Napoleon Dynamite.

Funny the other 4 include, if not star, Seth Rogen.
Pineapple Express
Observe and Report
Knocked Up
and
40 Year old Virgin.

A lot of other movies have been nice:
Forgetting Sarah Marshal
I Love You Man
Funny People
Wander Lust

others were popular and pissed me off:
Hangover 1 & 2

or disappointed:

Ted... good laughs but not enough.

What were your favorite comedies since 2000? I may have some movie viewing to do to catch up!

The only comedies since 2000 that I can think of that I would go out of my way to see again are Dodgeball and Black Dynamite. I'm sure there's been ones I haven't seen that are worth it, but a vast majority of modern comedies are just crap.

Hopefully somebody will post something that revives my hope in this genre, or just posts some movies that I've forgotten about.

I'd say Role Models, Old School and Anchor Man were all pretty funny to me. Did Kung Fu Hustle come out in the 2000's? I'm pretty sure it did.

I remember laughing at Napoleon Dynamite but everyone wouldn't stop quoting it to the point where any time I hear it now I go in to an epileptic rage.

Seems like there should be more but that's all I got right now.

I love Dodge Ball! Way up there... especially the scene with Lance Armstrong. I haven't seen Black Dynamite. Reviewing.

I liked Role Models. I put it in the nice category. Also with Sean Scott Williams ? I like him in American Pie Reunion recently. He owns that movie. Goon was excellent too. Kung Fu Hustle is 2004. I don't recall loving it. Maybe I should watch again.

Oh yeah. I meant to see Goon since I like both Sean and hockey.

Kung Fu Hustle just fit into my love of goofy B movies and Kung Fu.

Oh I'd also add the not at all divisive or polarizing Scott Pilgrim. I enjoyed the visual aesthetic and some of the lines were just funny as hell to me. Plus I liked the comics even more.

It was inoffessive enough. Kind of like Quick and the Dead. I just kept waiting for the next fight, OK, move along.

Saw Kickass the same time. Not quite a comedy, had a similar asthetic, much better.

Oh damn, how'd I forget Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead? I'm pretty sure I'd go gay for Simon Pegg. Not the greatest movie ever but I even enjoyed Run Fat Boy Run.

I loved Run Fat Boy Run, it did have the unfair advantage of my Dylan Moran bias though.

Well, I quite enjoyed Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. That one was pretty awesome. Cabin in the Woods was really good as well. Same with Fido, Bubba Ho-Tep, and Adaption...

...All of which have, of course, not been mentioned. Is is just me, or do I watch a lot of obscure movies?

None of those movies are obscure, but two of them are not comedies. Also, Adaptation has Nic Cage in a starring role, so no one is going to class that as a good comedy. :D

My Big Fat Greek Wedding is one of my favourite 2000s comedies; other than, there are just too many to list.

Nah, they are all comedies. Dark comedies maybe, and some can get fairly serious at points, but they are still comedies. Or, at least, I thought so... And besides, Nic Cage had a starring role in Raising Arizona, that movie is considered one of the greats of the genre!

I may have to re-do my list. Forgot how great they are. I even have Christmas in 3d! Great call.

I saw that before Powers 2 and it is like they took a lot of the old jokes and polished them to a mirror shine! Great, great movie.

I really will have to re-do my top 5.

Was Observe and Report really a comedy? I mean it was a pretty good film and had some funny moments but I'd never class it a comedy.

Unfortunately, very few people are willing to look outside of widely released movies (which are usually not too good) and prefer to Stick to the "comedies" made by Jude Apatow and Will Ferrel.
