1. Homeworld 2
2. Mass Effect
3. Medieval 2: Total War
4. Fallout 3
5. Dragon Age: Origins

And many many many many more. I love my old games. I have never traded any of them in and never will. I will continue to play them untill my consoles die and cannot be repaired or PC's stop supporting them (although someone will probably be there to patch them to work knowing pc gamers).

Mass Effect
Dragon Age
System Shock 2
Bioshock
Fallout 2

Fallout 3 misses out to Fallout 2.

I also feel Portal should be on there somewhere but it wouldn't fit.

Demon's Souls
For EU it got released this year though, and I got that version. Great game, on my 21st playthrough now.

Mirror's Edge
How I missed this game is beyond me. Platinumed in like 3 days because I played it to death. And I still play it. Really love the concept.

Mass Effect 1
Nothing to say. It's Mass Effect. Can't wait to play part 2

Dragon Age Origins
Great game again, though with some flaws. Really loved the PC version, PS3 version was kinda terrible. Mods make the game even better for me though the abundance of sex-modes is somewhat scary.

Borderlands
Guns and a WoW style game? Sign me freakn up. Co-op doesn't make it worse either.
When you said "Nothing to say. It's Mass Effect. Can't wait to play part 2" I knew you owned a PS3, its not fair that you have to wait so much longer for the same game.

World in Conflict, such a good game, I'm so sad that the multiplayer is practicaly dead, the great campaign is enough alone though.

Mirror's Edge, it's a great new idea, if I picked it full price it would have angered me because it was so short, even though it was fun while it lasted.

Unreal Tournament 99, didn't need the multiplayer for this, just running round fragging bots and playing assult maps, more fun with this game offline then many of the shooters I've played online.

Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Acadamy, This is how star wars games should play, force power puzzles, deadly lightsabers instead of the blunt stick given to you in the force unleashed and reasonable light and darkside endings, all with character and lightsaber customiseation.

Dynasty Warriors Gundam, what can I say, I enjoy dynasy warriors games and love the gundam animes, put the two together in a game and I'll play it for hours and hours. It might look a bit dated now but I still love it.

As long as you played them sometime this year, anything goes, here's mine:
1. Bioshock
2. Painkiller
3. Resident Evil 4
4. Time Splitters: Future Perfect
5. Devil May Cry 4
Wait, so you mean played for the first time this year, right? I guess for me it would be:

5. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
4. Timesplitters 2 (I've played 3 and loved it but I want to finish 2 first)
3. Operation Flashpoint (1)
2. Deus Ex
1. Minecraft! How can you not love it!

4. FarCry 2 - Another surprise after hearing all the negative comments about it. It's now my favourite FPS and I've played it through several times, with different styles of play each time.
it doesn't have to be played for the first time this year, mine certainly wasn't, but just for fun, here's my top five games I played for the first time not released in 2010:
1. Painkiller
2. Fallout 3
3. Resident Evil 5
4. Dead Rising
5. Call of Duty: World at War

Good for you. I love it too, it's better than FC1 and much better than most make it out to be.

Team Fortress 2
Always has a special place in my gaming heart :)
Mirrors Edge
CoD WaW
Bionic Commando
Bioshock
SystemShock 2

Prototype - Definitely contains some of the most fun I have ever had playing a videogame. The entertainment value from cutting up civilians is absurd and endless.

Condemned - Not only one of the best I've played this year, but one of the best I've played, period. If only there were more games like this.

F.E.A.R 2 - Not as good as F.E.A.R, but it's still a very good FPS that made improvements in the right areas (apart from building on scares).

Dead Space - Incredibly tense and atmospheric. One of the best horror games I've played.

Battlefield: Bad Company - I loved the modern, yet not-too-serious tone of the single player campaign (the golf course comes to mind) and a multiplayer that delivered enjoyment in spades.
