Here is my attempt
* Metal Gear Solid 1- At the time, I couldn't understand the appeal and played Syphon Filter instead, however, after playing it through, the odd story, fantastic characters and intense stealth gameplay sucked me in.
*Saints Row 2- So everybody enjoys a bit of GTA right? In a way, this is more of a successor to San Andreas than GTA4, however, it solves my greatest dislike of the series, the characters are unrelatable ass hats. An Italian mobster, a black gang member and a Serbian immigrant are not relatable or even likable, character customisation gives SR2 my top pick of open world game.
*Dead Rising- the game that persuaded me to opt for a 360 over a PS3. I haven't stopped thanking it, well aside from the two RRoDs.
*Bioshock- Whoa, just whoa.
*CoD4- Okay, so the story was short and the ending unpopular but what was there was incredibly well done and the multiplayer was without a doubt the longest amount of time I have spent on a game. How could the next CoD beat this?
*CoD:WaW- Infinity ward laid down the challenge and Treyarch responded. I too, was pessimistic about a return to WW2 but this is my pick for best WW2 game by far. A longer story with co-op and multiplayer that rivals CoD4, plus this fulfills my love of the WW2 guns.
*Psychonauts- Like alot of you, I'm sure, I discovered this thanks to Yahtzee. Flawed though it is, this game is all kinds of weird and reminded me of what joy was in gaming.
*The Darkness- Controlling the vessel of an otherworldly being in his quest for vengence? Awesome, especially when you personally feel hatred of the enemy. The final level was amazing.
*God of War- I cannot choose which one, both are fantastic games that could quench the bloodlust of even the most homicidal of serial killers. Kratos is just pure bad ass.
*Dino Crisis 2- Ok, the story was crap and the graphics look like tripe now,but I have never replayed a games story mode so often. You get to kill dinosaurs with awsome guns, the end.

actually a fairly easy list for me. NOTE: The order is just a list not a ranking, it is too hard for me to put any one above the rest

Bioshock
Half-Life 2
Earthbound
Fallout 3
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Call of Duty 4
Street Fighter 2/Street Fighter 4
Warcraft 3
Silent Hill 2
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

All these games have wowed me in some way or another, They are all great games and I have many more to add but these would be my top ten (in no real order). The reason why they are so great is because, while some have great multiplayer, the single player campaigns for most of them are extraordinary and are experiences I won't forget,
that is the best damn top ten that ive ever seen..tho id prb swap outearthbound for final fantasy 3/6.

9. Civilisation 2
10. The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion

Honorable mentions to Kessen 2, Dynasty Warriors 3 and Dynasty Tactics 2

In no order:
Bioshock (great setting, style and writing)
Deus ex (Good blend of rpg and fps)
System shock (Very freaky, but the setting wasn't quite as good as bioshock, though Bioshock wasn't as scary)
Gears of War (for it's interesting take on cover based combat)
Serious Sam (it's just fun)
Dungeon keeper 2 (great sense of humuor, quite challenging)
Portal (I enjoy a puzzle)
Halo 1 (good story and gameplay)
Prince of persia: sands of time and two thrones (can't pick between them. SoT the female character felt a lot more useful, even if she did shoot you occasionally, whilst two thrones improved vastly on the combat and added some new and interesting puzzles).

1. Final Fantasy VII (it's just that good, words cannot describe it)

2. Kingdom Hearts II (better than the first, thanks to the improved combat)

3. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (great platforming, great story, and beautiful environments)

4. Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando (hilarious dialogue, excellent gunplay, and fun platforming)

5. Golden Sun: The Lost Age (excellent puzzle-solving, fun and challenging combat, unique and epic story)

6. Jak 3 (great platforming, fun missions, and well done gun mechanics)

7. Shadow of The Colossus (straight to the action, exploring is challenging, and boss fights are unique and well done)

8. Tales of Symphonia (fun combat, great story, but gets minus points for decent graphics and annoying voice acting on some characters *cough* Lloyd and Genis *cough*

9. Metroid Prime (unique game play, greatly done environments, well designed weapons and enemies)

10. Beyond Good & Evil (fun stealthing, good story and quirky characters) or Left 4 Dead (extremely challenging, requires real team work, and a great game for friends)

That's pretty much what I can remember now, don't know if I left any games out.
