Here is my attempt
* Metal Gear Solid 1- At the time, I couldn't understand the appeal and played Syphon Filter instead, however, after playing it through, the odd story, fantastic characters and intense stealth gameplay sucked me in.
*Saints Row 2- So everybody enjoys a bit of GTA right? In a way, this is more of a successor to San Andreas than GTA4, however, it solves my greatest dislike of the series, the characters are unrelatable ass hats. An Italian mobster, a black gang member and a Serbian immigrant are not relatable or even likable, character customisation gives SR2 my top pick of open world game.
*Dead Rising- the game that persuaded me to opt for a 360 over a PS3. I haven't stopped thanking it, well aside from the two RRoDs.
*Bioshock- Whoa, just whoa.
*CoD4- Okay, so the story was short and the ending unpopular but what was there was incredibly well done and the multiplayer was without a doubt the longest amount of time I have spent on a game. How could the next CoD beat this?
*CoD:WaW- Infinity ward laid down the challenge and Treyarch responded. I too, was pessimistic about a return to WW2 but this is my pick for best WW2 game by far. A longer story with co-op and multiplayer that rivals CoD4, plus this fulfills my love of the WW2 guns.
*Psychonauts- Like alot of you, I'm sure, I discovered this thanks to Yahtzee. Flawed though it is, this game is all kinds of weird and reminded me of what joy was in gaming.
*The Darkness- Controlling the vessel of an otherworldly being in his quest for vengence? Awesome, especially when you personally feel hatred of the enemy. The final level was amazing.
*God of War- I cannot choose which one, both are fantastic games that could quench the bloodlust of even the most homicidal of serial killers. Kratos is just pure bad ass.
*Dino Crisis 2- Ok, the story was crap and the graphics look like tripe now,but I have never replayed a games story mode so often. You get to kill dinosaurs with awsome guns, the end.
