From our very own MiracleOfSound, this is probably one of the best metal songs I've ever heard. And it's all him.
I love you!
Hey, it's the truth, that is a killer fucking song. It can hold it's own easily against the others on that list.
The other songs you make are great too, but that's the best by far.
Thanks man. I think this thread's gone a bit funny.
Somthing's sure weird. Or maybe Furburt is just a drunk irish]/s] spamming to get his post count up? Nah, couldn't be.

We need the Mystery Van and Scooby Doo.

Generally awesome with good lyrics

In a shallow environment I've been taught to live
But I always wondered what was in the deep
Trapped in the indecision of which way to go
Where it's safe and home or where no one has gone

Proggy.

It's Opeth... If you really need an explanation to why it's awesome, go to 5:40.

Atmoshperic with a good mix of raw and calm stuff.

Happy and folky.

Death metal and FUNK?

Great riffs + a guest appearance from Christian Älvestam!

This is possibly the best riff ever.

I just had to add another Wolverine song...

It's maddafackin' Alestorm.

I can't make a top 10, hell I'd be hard pressed to make a top 30 for me, and that's only if I actually think of all the songs I like. If I made a list, I'd forget plenty and have to redo it.

Tough...My musical tastes are all over the place, and I don't quite know my favorites. Still, I'll give it a shot:
Wasted My Hate--Metallica
I don't care what anyone says, Load was the best fucking album ever. I love the opening guitar bit.

Hold Your Colour--Pendulum
I just think it's really kinda pretty. Makes me all calm and contemplative.

Remedy--Seether
One of their better songs. They're usually a vaguely mediocre band, but this song is awesome.

Vollmond--In Extremo
German folk metal for the win. And bagpipes. That is all.

No Heaven--DJ Champion
The other song Borderlands made famous. Has an excellent beat.

Ain't No Rest For The Wicked--Cage The Elephant
Yeah, that one. CTE is the only band I can think of that's released absolutely nothing but good music, and this is their best.

Man Named Truth--Monsters of Folk
I'm usually not a fan of folk music, but this has really great guitar/mandolin, whatever that is.

Bleeding Me--Metallica
Another excellent piece.

The Unthinking majority--Serj Tankian
Really musically original, I think.

Ten Thousand Fists--Disturbed
Pretty damn good, but definitely bottom of the top ten.
There are others, but those are the ones I listen to the most. I tried to avoid too much repetition in the bands, otherwise there'd be more Metallica and Pendulum in there.

None of these are in order...
A beautifully orchestial ballad of a love lost sung by Professor Dumbledor. What's not to like?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A beautifully orchestial ballad of a love lost sung by Pro...er, Eddy Veder.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A beautifully orchestial ballad of laser weilding kung fu cowboys? Sweet!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gentlemen, prepare to get your balls blown off. Ladies, prepare to be impregnated.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of the best AC/DC songs you've never heard (that and Who Made Who and Big Balls).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you Brutal Legend for helping me remembering this song.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Easily one of Pink Floyd's opuses. The lyrics, the music, the tone, it all just works.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first time I heard this song, I broke down and cried. It's possibly the most moving song I've heard.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay enough metaphors and emotional experiences, let's bang our heads.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Every great song should be complimented with a great (and sometimes weird) music video.
