I refuse to add any characters from Halo...

I can't think of a best hero but for best supporting character, I vote for the milk man from Psychonauts

Travis touchdown, he kills people with a lightsaber and he fights a guy who has the destroy buster and learned his most powerful attacks from a tv show he watches.

Top Villans: Lazarevic, SVER, The Flood (screw you Library level!). honestly cant think of more and yet I thought I knew more.

You guys do realize that the decade actually ends at the beginning of 2011, right? That gives time for SC:Conviction and Halo:Reach to come out.

Ah. no it doesn't. Decades go like so: twenties (20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29), thrities (30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37,3 8, 39) and so on. The first year AD is completely irrelevant when talking about modern decades.

Anyways, top hero goes to Tidus and Jak, both for being awesome and saving the entire world.

I do want to suggest others but they are from games I cannot play because of bloody exlusives, I'd rather suggest what I know

I really hope they do instead of letting the franchise stagnate. I'm afraid they might have been scared off by the generally negative reaction to Sunshine.

Gaming heroes of the decade...hrum.....
Daniel from Painkiller. He's got the weapons, the skills, the tarot, and kicks Lucifer's and Alastor's ass.

Travis Touchdown of No More Heroes. He's an otaku with a lightsaber, can beat you with luchadore moves, and loves strawberry shortcake. Plus he's the #1 ranked assassin and has a brother voiced by Quinton Flynn. Nuff said.

Samus Aran (to give the metaphorical middle finger to the legions of Halo fans). Yes she was in the 80's but you have Super Metroid to thank for perfecting the Metrodvania format.

Dante from Devil May Cry. The prototypical and still one of the best spectacle fighters around. Better thank him, Kratos.

Albert Wesker, Resident Evil. Magnificent Bastard. Large ham. Uroboros being released into the atmosphere to ensure complete global saturation. Costume stolen from Neo. Style: ludicrous.

Sephiroth, Final Fantasy 7. The template of all JRPG villains. Dur.

Every character in the Metal Gear series. Why? Because all of them are so well developed and designed that putting any one character above another would be a travesty. END.

That's pretty much my top video game characters.

"I am the Milkman. My milk is delicious!" In other words, I agree, because the Milkman illustrates one of the coolest features about Psychonauts. In other games, the Milkman might be a peripheral character, one who's just there for laughs or an extra sidequest, and you really wouldn't be able to do anything for him, or to him. In Psychonauts, however, the Milkman is a full-on quest, and your quest is to help him by discovering what makes him tick. He is both an amusing character and a challenging level.

As for best supporting character, I vote for Double H from Beyond Good and Evil ("Caaaaaarlson and Peeeeeeeters!")

So if someone started at 1 AD and started counting up decades, and someone started from present day and started counting down decades, the ends and beginnings wouldn't match up?

So if someone started at 1 AD and started counting up decades, and someone started from present day and started counting down decades, the ends and beginnings wouldn't match up?
If someone started counting from the first year, you would be right. But no one counts from the first year, we label decades by their name. Nineties is 1990-1999, 2000 is not part of the the nineties.

Since a lot of people have already placed Master Chief and Commander Shepard as top heroes (which I fully agree with), I'm gonna go ahead and name as one of the top heroes...

Jackie Estacado from The Darkness. I'm familiar with Jackie from both the comic and the game, and I have to say, I liked game-Jackie a lot better. He's very human, very tragic, and an entirely believable character.
