Everyone has a few topics that they just will not debate about. I'm curious about this and would invite you to share what kind of things that you just won't discuss anymore, either because you've discussed it to death, have a unusual/controversial opinion and would rather just keep that Pandora's box closed, or just think that discussing that topic is pointless.

There are two topics that seem to come up here every once in a while that I won't discuss: Piracy and Suicide. Piracy because the same tired arguments get brought up time and time again and no one is going to have their mind changed and suicide because it is such a personal subject that it's easy to piss someone off.

So any topics that you just refuse to discuss and if so, why?

Any of the hot button topics on here about equality regarding race, gender, sexuality or what have you. Also anything regarding the law, not because LULz GUYS FUCK DA POLICE ORIGINAL GANGSTER but because the discussion goes absolutely nowhere and it's just essentially one guy going here's my facts the other guy going here are mine we've reached an impasse fuck. Also I hate subjective versus objective arguments whether it's about morals or opinions or whatever. Oh! and I absolutely hate posting about drug users, mostly because I pity them and beleive we should help them instead of treating them like they should be euthanized.

Actually, that's my answer; friendzone.

Unfortunately, I don't think that topic will be leaving these forums any time soon.
It's a shame too. How the hell can people discuss at length somebody lamenting their own social ineptitude and not making their intentions clear?

Definitely the friendzone ones. Generally I don't say much in the taboo subjects either, but that's mainly due to by the time I check them out, somebody has given the same sort of opinion as me, and I wouldn't want to just go "This", generally I try to add something if possible.

You heard it here first, folks, had a girl left Vault101 at some point! The Escapist forums: bringing you all the news you don't want to hear.

OT: Well, I'm really starting to tire of piracy. I think soon I'll just drop out of the whole issue. It's full of people who apparently have only heard of piracy through second hand rumours. And others who seem to room temperature IQ. In Celsius, to specify. Last truly idiotic statement I read was about somebody saying he pirated [insert game here][footnote]Can't remember which one it was, but certainly one of the recent bigger ones[/footnote] because it didn't have support for his native language. The game was in English and it was released only in English. There weren't even fan-made language packs.

I'm long bored with ME3 threads or "BioWare is bad". These have decreased drastically lately, for which I'm glad.

And finally, and this isn't a huge issue on the Escapist, "is the cabbie Caine?" in Bloodlines. I've seen this so much that any time it comes up I can make a checklist with arguments and start ticking them off as they come up. I'm pretty sure that the total time and effort spent arguing on this (I'm a bit ashamed that some of it is mine) would be enough to build two more VtM video games.

There isn't really a topic I'll always refuse to discuss.
It's more the apparent attitude of the other people in the potential discussion that may make me refuse.
Basically if someone's willing to have an actual discussion, I'm fine regardless of topic. If they seem to want to be didactic I'll probably walk away (maybe figuratively).

Racism is one I like to keep hidden away mostly, due to controversial beliefs and views I hold. Other than that, I'm pretty open with most discussion, though I'm not really into the intense debating that often takes place on here. I swear some of you guys are completely motivated by argumentation sometimes, like it's in your blood. xD

Here on The Escapist? Gender, misogyny, uhhh... Lemme get back to you.

In general I have no problem discussing anything. Here on the Escapist the topics I don't like to discuss have been discussed to death and it has never changed anyone's opinion. Plus there are stronger, more eloquent, voices here. (Are Evilthecat or Katakori-Kun still around?)

Not that I haven't ever discussed it but Feminism. I am just tired of hearing the same excuses whenever I bring up the fact the feminists might be being a tad unfair with something. Women are hurt more therefore they are entitled to more, and men shouldn't have things because of it. Just so frustrating every time. Does not help having a feminist for a girlfriend haha.
