Two entries here.

Dead Rising a game I love has an egregious offense with its seven day survivor, which forces you to play the game for 14 solid hours. 14! And if your Xbox locks up on the 6th day at 11:30 pm then FFFFFUUUUU- (Profanities censored out.)

Sorry about that FUCK! I get a little worked up when I FUCK! Think about that. Piece of FUCKING SHIT! Another game that had rather FUCK! irksome achievements is Guitar Hero 3, in fact I would like to submit each and every last one of them for your approval, of particular FUCK! note is earn 20 FCs on Expert. Now if you will excuse me its closing time at the bar. (Beats his copy of Deadrising into Oblivion.)
Which is a far better game with no dick achievements.

"Mile High Club"--Completing the last bonus mission for Cod4 on veteran.

It's annoying because I've done it before! Just not on my Xbox. Plus I've reach the end one time and shot the guy holding the hostage in the foot, but somehow that's not cool so the game fails me.
Exact same thing happened to me. "Real Veterans get headshots, not fleshwounds."

I had to play like 30 more times to get to the end again.

I got there, got the wonderful message (ironically because I didn't want to risk hitting the hostage after finally made it there) so I gave up.

This might be stupid but it is from Call of Duty WAW- Gunsligner: Annoying.

Basically you have to kill this escaping general at the end of Vendetta with only a pistol. Finding the pistol is weird because unless you look around you will not know where it is. Once you get it you have to bring it through the rest of the game. Finally when you get to the part you need to shoot, the fun begins. You have enough trouble trying to aim at this asshole, but if you accidentally alert one of the guards or soldiers, a sniper will not stop shooting at you. It took me 18 times of quitting and loading from the last save spot to finally get him, but then you realize it is only worth 15 G. Advice, don't do it.

Okay fellas I have two of them:

1. Demon's Souls: "Obtained Best Weapon of Darkmoonstone". Yah, I was level 350, had no life and was never able to get THAT LAST FUCKING TROPHY! The stones come in different sized pieces and the last one I needed was a pure darkmoonstone that drops from two enemies in the entire game and even if you have the special equipment, the drop chance is so low that it was on the same level of jumping off the Sears tower naked into a lava filled tornado/earthquake...and surviving. I'm pretty sure I could have drawn a map of the entire game complete with treasures and enemy locations/beginning offensive attacks. Despite all that, one of the best games I've ever played hands down.

2. Star Ocean, The Second Story: Three words: Cave of Trials. I feel like this area of Star Ocean could be classified as "retardedly hard." First of all, you can't save throughout all thirteen floors of this place. You fight ridiculously tough enemies, most of which are harder than the end boss in terms of sheer power or in terms of the offensive strategy employed by them. The combat in star ocean is free-moving hack-and-slash. So, you just go for it and the combat never pauses...EXCEPT...when a spell is cast. Yah...There was this one group of magic-castering bitches that you had to just "get lucky" to avoid. They would all cast "Star Light" at the same time and they could pull it off faster than any of your casters could pull off a spell or before any of your melee characters could make it across the screen. Starlight consists of being hit by a bunch of meteors (that explode after crushing you into oblivion just in case you survived the oblivion). Four sets of meteors was enough to destroy Claude, Rena, Opera and Ashton. :D

The Battle Metal achievements/trophies on Arkham Asylum. I have never been that good enough with the combat in that game to get more than one or two bats in any given match so, I'm having some trouble with that one. I only just got the silent predator trophies tonight too.

Finding all of the flags in the first Assasin's Creed, if you or someone you care about has manage to find all of them let me know, I won't believe it 'till I see it.
True that. I picked up Assassin's Creed recently, and my girlfriend printed the flag maps of every city and overworld area off the internet and sits next to me acting as navigator while I play for that achievement.

One...one achievement is tormenting me

"PERFECTIONIST" from Bully, it's for 100% the game, it 125 gs and is the only one I don't have for the game. I'm currently at 97.3% or something like that, even though according to EVERY walkthrough I've read, I've done everything in the game, except for all the errands. Even though you only need between 30-40 outta the fifty in the game for the achievement, I would do them all, only problem is THEY WON'T APPEAR. The game is so glitchy that the errands only appear when they want to, which is never, and I've done about 35 of them.

I guess I will never 100% the game.

Let's see:

Hard: the achievement where you have to complete Mass Effect on the insanity difficulty setting. I'm not even 1/2-way through Feros, and I'm already giddy with excitement anticipating some of the tougher sections of the game.

Annoying: Both kinds of survivor achivements in Dead Rising. (5-7 day survivor and anything involving rescuing people.)

The Ally achievements from Mass Effect. Complete the entire game, every side mission included, 3 times. Each time using 2 different allies. Each playthrough takes between 20-25 hours. It's not difficult, but jesus fuck do those side missions get boring after a while.

Has there ever been that ONE Achievement in the game, that you just found profoundly hard/annoying?

Post it up, here and say WHY if at all possible.

For examples sake.

EX:1

Game: Half Life 2:Episode 2

Achievement: Little rock gnome

Type?: Annoying.

The achievement, says that you must bring a garden gnome to the rocket, at the end of the game. Problem is that the gnome appears at the BEGINING of the game, and you must lug it with you everywhere you go, including veichle sequences from which gets very tricky. The only saving grace is that you can use it as a weapon with the Zero point energy field manipulator gun.
_____

EX:2

Game: Left 4 Dead 2

Achievement: Guardin' Gnome

Type?: Tough/Annoying

The achievment says that you must get the gnome (second level in Dark Carnival) and bring it with you to the Escape Veichle. Problem is, that to get the gnome you must play a mini game, from which consumes some time, and the zombies-Erm "Rage Virus Victims" never stop coming, AND you cannot attack with the Gnome with you. Include that, and the fact that you must lug it through the roller coaster scene, and the endless Rage Virus victims when you're trying to reach the safe room through the ticket Gate, and it gets VERY Tricky.

Hope those examples were good enough for yeah!

Post Away!
All valve games have these achievements and they are awesome fun to get so shut your whore mouth.
What the fuck?

The point of this thread is to list HARD OR ANNOYING achievements, I listed two I did not insult them I just said they were hard/annoying where as you come in, not add anything to the discussion, and insult out of anywhere you troll.

Get back to your bridge.
Dude, it was a joke, calm yourself.
Uh huh, terrible joke there buddy. Your sense of humour is atrocious.
Not his fault you don't get memes, god damn newfags

The Conversationalist acheivement in AC 1 was annoying as gosh darn heck. I didn't realise you could talk to Lucy at the beginning, so i had to go back through the game and the memories to finish it.

Game: Lost Odyssey

Achievement: Treasure Trove

Type: Tedious

For this achievement, you must open/collect every item that appears on the game field. Look behind all posters, in pots, trees, treasure chests, you name it. Somewhere along the way I missed one or two things and will have to backtrack through all the areas I can still access to track them down.

The achievement "2 for one" on Halo 3
Its where online, in a ranked match you have to get a double kill with a single spartan laser shot
For those of you who don't know the spartan laser is an extremely slow firing weapon that shoots a beam in a strait line
i don't even know if its possible
What if two guys were in a warthog? The laser tears up most vehicles doesn't it?
It has to be in Free For All so the chances of a warthog having two guys in it is near impossible.

OT: Both the Orb achievements in Crackdown.

Type: Fucking annoying.

For those of you who have never played Crackdown, it is very similar to GTA. It has a huge open world, lots of tall buildings and large amounts of people to kill.

You play a dude who can jump pretty much wherever he wants, whenever he wants. Now, the game has a skill system that every time you do something (Shoot a guy, blow a guy up, run over a guy ect.) you get better with whatever that thing was (Guns, explosives, cars, respectively). Problem is, there is no practical way to get Agility skill, so the game kindly puts 500 Orbs all over the city that give you Agility. Their are also 300 other Orbs that give a little bit of every skill.

Thats 800 Orbs total that are in every nook and cranny in the city. You have to collect every single one to get these two achievements.

I have never even tried.
