yeah i do too when people mix them up. especially on shark tales.

I dont actually compare those two films too much. mostly cause they're for different audiences so one was allowed to get away with more. Both are good in their own merits. now if it were shark tales and finding nemo or something the like yeha.

but thats just my opinion on it.
*shudder*..will smith fish...

I'm not sure Id say they are for differenct audiences..they just take different aproches

PIXAR focused on making an emotionaly engaging story to entertain kids and adults

Dreakworks often went for the "make it funny and add some adult references" <-a tactic which was popularised by shrek (even though antz came out before) and every other animated film from dreak works and otherwise followed suit...its not a bad aproach but I'm sure we were all sick of it by the time that fucking peice of crap bee movie came out...*breath* sorry I'm glad they actually did somthing a little more artistic with king fu panda and how to train your dragon

I was actually REALLY pleasantly surprised with kung fu panda...it is a gorgeous movie

anyway getting off topic...antz uses the "adult referneces" schtick as well but its got alot else going for it..its quite charming

NOOOOO!
Why? I mean, I was apprehensive of 3, but it turned out to be amazingly realized, and utterly brilliant that ended perfectly.

No please, PLEASE no.

I was more thinking the giant battle scene with the termites where ants are literally melted by acid and zeke picks up his friend's disembodied head, and when the hornet loses his wife in a very clear way when i said they're for the more grown up theme. Generally pixar doesnt really show that type of a brutality in their films, with the scariest pixar film I can think of being Monsters Inc just for hte salamander monster.

It's not cause for any sort of emotion. It's a rumor. Rumors are less then worthless in movie terms. Plenty of "pre-production" projects have died so if something has less then that its not even worth considering. Right now its less likely to happen then the Halo movie, the Bioshock movie, or the WoW movie, all of which are never going to happen. Ask me again when things start to actually happen.

There is absolutely no need for a fourth one, and to add one would ruin the amazing ending Toy Story 3 had. I felt the same way about Halo 4, which is why I will never buy it or see any further Toy Story movies.
This. There is a mini series and whatnot, but frankly at this point, it's over. It's good for things to end and this is probably just a rumour. Though recent pixar announcements make me increasingly nervous.

Halo 4 I disagree with you on, I still think there is story untold. I don't think said untold story is being told particularly well (you don't need to to have super powered bad guys as a bad guy, sometimes it's better to go with a weaker on the same level opponent) but still. The relationship in a romcom isn't over after the happily ever after shot and whilst halo left it open to elaborate on that, toy story really didn't.

It would probably be good, it's Pixar after all, but they already metaphorically went to toy heaven last time. Just end it there.

Toy Story 3's ending was basically perfect. I think a fourth movie is a bad idea unless it's all new toys. But even then, every aspect of a toy's life has been covered by the series so far so I can't see what new things they could bring to the table.

On the other hand, it's Pixar. We'll see :)

Please tell me this is a joke?
The first 2 films were probably the most watched films of my childhood. The third film for me was very moving as it wrapped up that whole trilogy in a very emotional and sad way. If there is a new film I won't watch it, I don't want it to spoil the previous films for me. They ended well as you knew it was the end, and there were no sequel attempts in there.

You know what? You are precisely right. My main issue with Halo 4 is that it had Master Chief as the protagonist. It ruined the feeling I had about his sacrifice. Maybe if they told a few stories about trying to find him or focused on the cool dynamic between the humans and elites. The setting is rich and diverse, they just chose to focus on the most boring part of it and add silly new elements rather then elaborate on past themes. Not gonna lie when I saw that my post was quoted I thought it was going to be more bitching about me daring to voice a negative opinion about the direction Halo went in but was pleasantly surprised.

I love discussing the Halo series but am sick and tired of having to defend my opinion from people who think that it is great because it is Halo and therefore worthwhile. Some open discourse is nice now and again.

On the subject of Pixar: I liked Brave, even if it wasn't their best piece. I am cautiously optimistic about their future lineup from what I have seen, mostly because they deserve some credit. Though it must be said that I hated Cars and A Bugs Life (yeah I know real original). Not all of them have been up to Toy Story's standard but I don't think I hated any others.

I liked Brave probably more than a bugs life even though a bugs life is higher rated, but any pixar for me (except cars) gets me excited. The first thing that made me even cautious about future pixar films was cars 2. I just don't see how Toy story would work and it scares me it was suggested this early.

I hope not. I like Pixar, and I think most of the movies they've made are gold. But Toy Story 3 wrapped everything up so nicely, it was a good end. To make another full-length movie might undo that and leave the story on a sour note rather than a satisfying conclusion

Kinda concerned, unless, they will focus on new characters! I know, that sounds like heresy, but there's so much space for innovation and new ideas! Make a completely new kid, toys and story!

Concern...

It seems pointless. And I wonder what they could possibly do. I mean, I could see it being cool if it was about Andy's family when he's married and has kids. And he passed all his old toys to them.

But since that's not possible considering the way the 3rd ended... I just don't see what they could do with this movie.
