I didn't think it was going to be CG, but it actually looks great. Funimation is going to dub it (It's actually one of their first co-productions) and a Mass Effect one is on the way later. Oh yeah, and the film's full title is the super generic sounding Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker. Although, the Japanese title is something about Blood Mages, so this'll have those.

Is that really an anime? Or is it just scenes from the game... cause that shit looks CGI to me.

Edit:

I'm conflicted... I've always hated the CGI Appleseed, but I liked Halo: Legends...

Then again... Appleseed WAS pretty terrible compared to the original...

Dawn of the Seeker? Sounds interesting lore-wise. We've only seen one seeker so far, Cassandra. I'd be interested to hear about their inception. Definitely looking forward to this.

So...... subs, or dubs?

Anyways, it looks kind of interesting, but I doubt that I'll be watching it. Nothing in the Dragon Age universe ever interested me that much, save the Qunari. The animation is kind of a turn off, as well.
Both, Funimation is co-producing so they're most likely dubbing it, but it's being made for Japanese audiences as well.

It is animated in Japan for a Japanese audience, so yes it's anime. But, it does appear to be a CG movie as opposed to the hand drawn one I was expecting...

Somehow I can't seem to get my hopes up. Most of the time when I watch western media reinterpreted by Japan I wind up not liking it. The Ironman anime was dissapoint, only a few of the Halo Legend shorts were good, the Wolverine manga was terribad and the Batman shorts also failed to capture my attention.

Name me one Japanse CGI movie that has ever worked.

They should've just kept it hand drawn, because Japanese CGI tends to be extremely wooden.

Then again, this was probably going to be a simple cash-in from the get-go.

I didn't know about this project. Now that I do know... Meh, CGI spoils it for me.

Well technically all the studio ghibli films for the last 20 years havn't been hand drawn but drawn using computers.

So they would be computer generated imagery, and films like ponyo and arrietty have quite recently (ponyo a few years ago, arrietty this year) had cinema releases world wide. So must of worked :p.

Well, if you reason like that then every movie is made with computers ever since filmmaking went digital.

Dragons age anime... well it didn't work for Iron-man, or Wolverine, or even the X-men.
4rth times a charm.

It's weird that they think they would need a DA show because game of thrones already exists.

Meh, I don't like that kind of CGI stuff. Actually not a big fan of standard fantasy and dragons, either, so yeah, there's absolutely no intensive for me to watch it.

Not really, as long as real actors are involved.

both, i usually hate listening to things in other languages, especially some of the voice actors they hire in japan, and i turn subs on for everything

OT: well i'm interested, however whenever it finally comes out over here unless it's advertised i'll probably forget about it...
