How is a rap song about bitches goes along with a game that suppose to be realistic and about war?
And how this game won "shooter of the year" in some magazine if its not out yet?
This trailer just screams: "COD fans come here, we got rap songs! (aka cookies)"

WTF?
That has to be the most random soundtrack, period, I'd rather prefer orchestral choirs than this. Did the person who decided this track is also the same person who choose to play linkin park in Medal of Honour.
Game still looks good and yes I'm refering to the campaign.

Those lyrics... Man, that was deep.
I think Franz Kafka has a new competitor here.

(I have 99 problems too, and this trailer is one of them.)

Yeah, because all COD fans like rap music.
Oh, and because it's rap, they are probably really stupid, right?

It's still a very weird trailer, though. The music just doesn't fit at all.

There have been 'mostly finished' betas running at various gaming trade shows this year.

A fair number of magazines have had hands on sessions with the game in the last three months and the general concensus is mind = blown.

However, whether that means BF3 represents a same resetting of the standards that BF2 did or if it just means the hype train's rollin' around remains to be seen.

I hope it's the former, it looks stunning and I haven't been this excited about a shooter since the Left 4 Dead beta. I'm saving £1500 for a new PC so it had better be worth it!*

*Okay, it's a work device too, but this game is a hefty ulterior motive...

99 problems but a gun isn't one?

I mean come on, they could have changed it up a little if they had to use this song. But personally I think they should have used keisha's song where she sings we go hard ha ha ha hard. At least the lyrics make more sense for the situation.

You know, after all the "epic" scores that most games usually go for, I was actually quite ok with that. It was actually a change up, rather than everyone trying to go for "epic".

But no, I liked this trailer. But that's because I like this song, even if rap isn't my thing.

Oh god.

There are a million different songs out there they could have used that would have been better. What happened to the good Battlefield ads? The ads for BF:Vietnam spring to mind instantly.

Hell the ad for BFBC2: Vietnam was even good but this? This is just a god-damn joke.

EA, sit down and talk to your advertising branch.

EDIT

Hell the country version of the same song that you hear at the end of Fright Night works better with this ad.

That was some very fitting music.

If you're having war problems, I feel bad for you son
I got ninety-nine problems, but a Russian ain't one.

Great to see what they think their audience would like.

A great display of epic fail.

But then again, I'm not much a fan of First Person Shooters and I hate rap.

I think people are overreacting a bit, or overanalyzing in some cases. I'm not a huge fan of rap, but at least the beat was well synchronized with what was happening, and was a little catchy in general. Generally songs aren't chosen for lyrical reference when advertising, but rather to convey a certain emotion or feeling. If the song is catchy, you'll remember it; if that happens, then the ad has done its job.

Personally I think Gears of War's Mad World ad got it right. People apparently agree, seeing as the song was all but unheard of before then.
