Something tells me you are not from the western provinces. :)
I live in BC. Why do you say that?
Because there is Bioware in Edmonton and EA Canada in Vancouver. Also because Quebec attracts game developers with massive tax credits while itself receiving equlization payments. In general, though, Canada has world's second largest game industry. How can you feel it being snubbed?
I meant that Canada seems to be largely ignored as an in-game entity. The only two games where I can recall Canada/Canadians ever being acknowledged are Call of Duty 3 and Champions Online.

Oh, I see. Sorry for misunderstanding. I thought Assassin Creed's Jade Raymond was pretty clearly labelled as Canadian. :)

I want this to be good more than I've ever wanted a game to be good before. I hope they know what they're doing with the third-person bits, the cover system, and the yellow.

At first I read Mary DeMarie as Mary DeVeere, and was like O.O "Kathleen has a sister in game development?!!
I thought she looked and sounded kind of similar to Kathleen too. :p
Can't wait til the 23rd of August. :)

Yeah, I'm getting a strong Blade Runner vibe and that is certainly not a bad thing.

I highly recommend preordering from g2play. 50% discount.
Can't wait for the game.

The Blade Runner vibe is actually not all that original. Syd Mead - the man who designed Blade Runner's apperance - is one of the forefathers of modern concept art and an inspiration for a great many people in that field. Still, Deus Ex looks splendid.

I don't mind paying for a good game. And if it turns out poorly, I won't buy it at all.

I've seen the leak. Its yellow space station wherever you go.

I hope they included areas outside of the metropolis, like a farm or small russian cottage village. Hell, I wish there was a waterpark level. Just something to break the repeat of office, factory, laboratory, apartment rumba. Deus Ex had plenty of those.

Well, I meant it for people who want to preorder it. Since everyone was amazed with the preview and the leaked version, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet. When everyone loves a game on /v/, that says something, damn it.

The game looks very yellow. Like it was taken in the dark with yellow lights coming out of the camera.

After seeing this, I am somewhat hopeful that DeusEx 3 will not suck quite as much as DX2.

These city vids looked amazing. Too bad the gameplay trailer released from before e3 looked bland and boring. The "multiple routes" system literally had 3 paths you could follow. 3 VERY LINEAR paths. Most of the badass fight scenes you've probably seen were quicktime events.

Unless I hear of this having some epic story, not interested. Currently looking like this is yet another clone remake with the hopes of grabbing some quick cash.

I don't think it will be an abomination the likes of DukeNukem forever, but I do see disappointment on the horizon.

I do hope I'm wrong however.

And seriously guys, could we please stop the Detroit bashing?
You want us to bash Montreal? Have you SEEN an angry Canadian before? I will stick to bashing fellow Americans the worst they will do is shoot me.

Right OT:

Looks like it got the fell right now if it got the gameplay and story down then we will be so happy we will play until we emerge from our room to find we have been declared legally dead.

Interest level has risen from

wait and see

to

ooooh shiney.

Looks great visually and I'm liking the whole "clutter" idea. That will definitely make the gameworlds seem more real, anyway.

Tell me though, I seriously hope that isn't daylight I see from 00:16 - 00:18. As those that have played the previous two Deus Ex games will attest to, in the DX world, everything takes place at night. The constant night setting definitely added to the atmosphere of all the shady occurences in the last two games.

Oh, and that large video mural that appears at 1:26 - "Noise Maker". I wouldn't mind having a print of that for my wall, thank you very much. Merchandising opportunity please, Eidos!
