Ok, you got me, I really want this game now.

I was on the fence about whether or not to get it, but after seeing that trailer I want it.

Ok, before I saw this my interest level was, like, here. But now, it's ALL THE WAY UP HERE.

Wow! Impressive!

That really was one of the best cinematic trailers I've ever seen.

Talk about immersion. I hope the game can live up to the feelings generated in this trailer.

But if I don't get augmentations, I won't be able to wear sunglasses at night. Decisions...

Very nice. Gives the spirit of what cyberpunk stands for perfectly. I really hope that we will see more decent games and maybe media in general in that setting, after all with how relatively close we are to the cyberpunk vision, it should be a good idea to go back to it.

At the start of the trailer there didn't seem to be anything especially wrong with the augmenting technology and that the complaints weren't that valid, then the trailer looked at the rejection drug needed and I thought "oh these people so have to die", now I want to play the game just for the pleasure of destroying them system in this game.

I will get to destroy the system in the game if I play it right?

Clever. If an augmentation debate ever came up for real- I'd be on Sarif's side. But this is an interesting and frightening counter-argument that gives me hope that the game will be worth playing.

Yeah, this sold me on the game. I was always on the fence when it came to the Deus Ex games. I know were real good, but just not a big fps fan. This new story along with the gameplay updates explained in another trailer just have me salivating for this game now!

It really isn't though. It's an argument against corporatism, against invasion of privacy, against government and corporate interests being aligned, but it's not actually an argument against the concept of augmentation.

Frankly, if the sort of augmentations that are shown in the new Deus Ex game(not the combat ones) were available? I'd sign up for every medical trial, save every penny of cash, until I had a full suite. Why remain as a limited, fleshy sack when you could run faster than a car, see beyond the visible spectrum, upgrade your mind and your memory, and live a longer and healthier life with less chance of injury? Because that's the reality of man merging with machine, as long as we can keep the profiteers out of it.

I'm really hoping that the game won't portray the pro-augmentation side as entirely villainous and malicious, there are enough neo-Luddite pseudo-philosophers in politics and the media as it is.

Well the arguments here aren't as much against Sarif as they are against what Augmentation is at the start of the game, almost before the game even starts you find out that Sarif scientists have found a way to make Neuropozine unnecessary (the drug that keeps your body from rejecting the augmentations) by activating dormant properties in human DNA (I think... basically making augmentation the next step in human evolution).
Sarif doesn't produce or make money off of Neuropozine, that's all Versalife.
Sarif isn't actually involved in all that much of the bad stuff this trailer talks about it seems... Versalife and other organisations seem to be taking care of that.
However I've only played the leaked preview, so all of this might prove to be false later in the game.
I've kept everything in this post very vague or only included it if it's learned about in the first 10 or so minutes of the game or in any of the trailers. Just so i don't spoil anything for anyone who hasn't also played it.

I suspect the initial attack on Sarif was ordered by Versalife to throw a wrench into Sarifs attempts at making Neuropozine superfluous.

The only real argument against Augmentation aside from religious/ethical ones are that the people who can't afford Augmentations will be left behind in the dust of the people who are rich enough to get augmented. It's basically a "Rich getting richer, poor getting poorer" argument. Some of the research Sarif is doing in the beginning of the game would change that up quite a bit by making Neuropozine unnecessary and thus making Augmentation much cheaper and safer.
And don't worry, the game portrays both sides pretty well... at least until you leave Detroit for the next location, I haven't played further than that.

Wow that was amazing. Judging my the trailers and reports of gameplay from the leaked beta it looks like the developers have really made a true successor the original Deus Ex. Roll on August 31st :D

Reminded me a bit of some of the Haze marketing; you know the one's with all the fake adverts for Mantel and their super drugs. Even had a webpage made to look like a real corperation.

....................*claps slowly and loudly*

That...was so epic and intense that I nearly forgot that it was a game trailer and not an actual real video about a real life issue.

Holy !@#$ing shit Eidos....Well done. Consider my mind totally blown.

And now, let me go and curl up in a corner, because this video has scared the crap out of me, when the issue it's talking about is nonexistent.
